Pre-Season Friendlies or Even a Tour

Pre-Season Friendlies or Even a Tour

Postby marky No.1 » Thu Mar 24, 2011 11:12 am

It has been made clear by many that they would like the season just to end and be happy with finishing 3rd from bottom and that be the end of it.

This summer needs some spark behind it and some early planning with the numerous players out of contract and some (hopefully) tasty friendlies to look forward to, so we can actually start our season in August.

Port Vale are off to America, not that we need to go just that far. Wouldn't be surprised if they sneak a young, hungry goalscoring whippersnapper back in their suitcase!

I've said this a few times in the past, that we should tour. With both Sammy & Jim Harvey being Irish, a tour to Ireland would make sense, using it as an opportunity for a bit of scouting while there. Great chance for some team building/bonding and if we manage to sign a decent player as a result, it would be cost effective.

So how did that work out then?
