I'll admit I booed perkins, and would do it again, because of the way he handled his departure. I wouldn't boo kempson because he owes money :? but i did join in the "pay your debts" chant  . Expletives are mostly heard during the heat of the moment and that will never go away im afraid.

What did Dean Howell ever do to deserve abuse from us? Granted he was bloody awful but just because someone who played for us was crap doesn't mean he deserves abuse.

Barracking's NOT abuse, it's banter!

Someone from the physio side of things asked us to give him stick. ;)

I thought he was a good player who served us well, whilst here.

I dont know if that Jamie Herd is still playing but if he ever turned up here agaain i think i would more than Boo him . If it wasn't for Janet Preston then he would have scarpered owing me , say no more. Bad boy

Perks gave everything when he played for us. At the time of him leaving, to take up an offer at a higher division club, he was not always first choice and was being played in a couple of different positions.

I wish him well at his new club.

I agree with Mr Shrimper. Not first choice all the time, played in different positions, it was bound to be frustrating. Oddly at the time, Perks didn't have a settled position which most fans actually agreed with, let alone the management. So offered that frustration or a chance of League football (and presumably a pay rise etc) why shouldn't he take it? I remember talking to his dad shortly before he went, saying Perks "just wants to play". Good luck to him. I really can only think of Lee Elam when I recall players who I want to see fail after leaving us/because of the manner of going.

Rigoglioso manufacturing his move, Keith?

For the record, it amused and satisfied me to see Perkins miss-out on two appearances at Wembley in two consecutive seasons. I cannot and refuse to - probably quite irrationally - respect the guy. It must be the only case in human, no, universal history, that trying to disguise ginger hair has actually backfired and created something even more despicable and hideous.

Nice fat pay cheque at Donny Rovers for a couple of years, and then back with his mentor.

People are entitled to an opinion you know. If you remember he threw his toys out of his pram 'cos he wasn't prepared to fight for his place. Pretty petulant really - he's gone and good luck to him.

Very good question.

I would have hoped that as the initial fee was a 'steal' then something in the way of high sell on clause was agreed between the clubs.

Good luck to the lad.

His manner of leaving may have upset a few, but that's all part and parcel of the game. I'm sure that we've had players who acted in a similar way to join us over the years.

The one thing it does show however is that when we get promoted the type of money being spent in League 1 is increasing year on year. Colchester have already spent £400K on a striker and now another £150K+ on Perks. I'd like to think that we could compete but I believe that we've been outbid for a number of players even in League 2. Our Board do a magnificant job, but when you look at the monies available at other clubs, it's even more imperative that the additional revenue streams from the new stadium are available sooner rather than later.
