1-0 McCready header from a corner.

Glen Cooper on The Bay says...

"Good start from Morecambe" "Been all Morecambe so far" "All round good performance so far"

Excellent stuff! :D

Dodgy penalty for them to equalise  Coops still reckons we are the better side, so hopefully we'll get in front again.

Free kick, Wilson hits it in and Drummond rose to head it in. Free kick from an excellent Hunter run which led to a silly foul.

Good result, particularly as it consolidates the win we got last week. Still plenty of hard work required, though. We're a long way from being out of trouble. By the way, would someone like to edit the score in the thread title, given it currently looks like we lost? ;)

Against the teams in the top half of the table we so far have 26 points - 3rd behind Chesterfield (33 points) and Bury (28).
In other words if we were in a league with the top 12 teams we'd be 3rd.

But we're not

I reckon we need 10 points from 12 to be sure. Can't why we won't get double that figure though if we can hit our traditional end of season run of form!

I would be more than happy with 60 points and mid-table mediocracy!

Roche-7 Didn't have much to do but made some solid catches and a superb save in the first half
Parrish-7 Solid I thought. Bit shaky at start but came into game
McCready-8 Thought he played very well, also added with a goal
Charnock-8 Also, thought he played very well, made some great blocks as well
Wilson-5 Some poor passing looked off colour all game and kept slicing the ball when it came on his right. Provided assist for second though
Hunter-7 Had a decent game, won free kick that led to goal after fantastic run dow line
Drummond-7 Played quite well some good passes and a goal. However, did manage to blast some balls way out into touch
Fleming-8 Played well today. Put himself around the pitch well in lots of different areas
Hurst-8 Good passing and crossing. Provided assist from corner for first goal
Spencer-9 Chased everything. Never gave the defenders a moments peace. Won the corner that eventually led to the goal after chasing a lost cause
Carlton-8 Some neat passing and work down the touchlines. Him and Spencer causing defence alot of irritation

Fair assessment, although he rose out of a bunch of players in our box to make a clearing header in injury time when we were under the cosh and that was brilliant.

I also thought Carlton was better than Spencer today, I though that Spencer was great in the first half and really wound up the Sarfend centre-backs but he faded in the 2nd half and should have been subbed after about 60mins. Carlton never stopped chasing and harrying and that shades it in my opinion.
