Legends Wall

Legends Wall

Postby outsider » Fri Mar 04, 2011 2:52 pm

As was mentioned at the Q&A night, the wall opposite the bar is due to become "A fans Legend Wall"

Who or what would you like to see on it? Try and keep this on topic to make it easier to read, as we all know one man’s legend is another’s leg-end, so please no arguing ta.
Ok I'll start the ideas with:-

At each end I would like to see a framed shirt and team photo from each of Wembley wins.

Was the wall "opposite" the Bar not the one with the Christie Park Tunnel on it?

Anyway Jimbo holding the Trophy has to be there somewhere :D

I think you need to have a team photo of the 74 Trophy team, the NPL promotion team and the wembley team. It would be unfair for any member of those teams to miss out because they might have worked hard for the team and because they were a unsung heroe not get the recognition they deserve.

Then you can move on to individual photos just to name a few:-

Garry Dullaghan (would be nice if we could do something special as a memorial)
Jimbo
Ian Cain
John Coleman
Jim McCluskie

I like the idea of something in tribute to Gary Dullaghan.

I'm in contact with his son, I could see if he has any special pictures of Dulla in Morecambe action / kit if we are struggling for any ?

If anyone is a Morecambe hero amongst many others, Gary is.

I wonder if we have something like him lifting the trophy when we won promtion to go with Jimbo holding the conference trophy.

and could we make it bigger than the rest and with a plaque of some sort underneath and then put it either in the middle of the wall or high up on its own.

It would be nice if it could tell the story of Morecambe F.C in pictures in a timeline from the earliest to the current era, pictures of both grounds, star players and important games.

would love to see the photos around the ground that have already been mentioned, and the wall next to the bar with the mosaic scenes should be good. the view from the tunnel at christie will be the wall opposite the door to reception.

of course a lot of the work will be visible tomorrow against southend, come and have a look

personaly as long as my hero Ian Cain is there then I'm happy, but so many deserve to be on our wall of fame.

Agreed. :D

That lad would run up and down that wing for the team until he dropped dead, then he would come back as a ghost & run some more.

A view from the uncovered terrace/car wash all the way from the away stand to the MBW stand like the one outside old trafford, looks effective

Who are the three gay blokes?

I like the one in the middle making the loser sign to the Man Utd crowd. Quite right too.
