The Relegation March...

The Relegation March...

Morecambe v Bradford,

Saturday, 19 March 2011
Barnet v Morecambe,

Tuesday, 22 March 2011
Morecambe v Macclesfield,

Three massive games in the future of Morecambe FC coming together in March. Macclesfield should be safe from relegation threats but may not be. Bradford are surely too big to go down but are still below us, all be it with one game in hand. Barnet... well if they beat us then we really are in trouble. Right now, I wouldn't bet against them doing so.

What happened to the Morecambe that so superbly crushed Shrewsbury? I came away from that game really believing we could still make the play-offs. Now, ten games later without another win and we look atrocious.

Bradford v Stockport on Sat that's a big game for us I think I would actually prefer Bradord to do us a favour and win even if it means them pulling away from us.

Also Barnet v Lincoln I wouldn't be supprised if Barnet got a result.

If someone said we'd stay up on the last day on goal difference I'd snap their hand off now as I suspect would everyone else on here. We can always grow fingernails again over the summer.

Stockport look certain for the drop but I didn't think Barnet looked too bad here earlier in the season, Burton have many games in hand but could tire from playing them. As for Bradford, well God knows what goes on with them

I lknow that the Barnet & Bradford games are real 6-pointers and both those sides will be well up for battle as we will need to be.

Fasten your seatbelts folks, here we go.

Bradford games are always the one's I look out for when the fixture lists come out, but this one will be massive. Remember that goal Rene (£££'s) Howe scored a few years back, it bought the house down !!! Let's hope that we have won a few between now & then, & that it isn't some sort of winner-take-all relegation fight though.

That's what worries me.
Can you think of anyone in the current squad capable of scoring the kind of goal that Howe scored ?

99% sure it was Parrish. Can't find the highlights anywhere but various reports note "The Shrimps then held the upper hand with Andy Parrish firing just wide from 25 yards". It must have been Parrish, how many 25 yard shots do we have in a match?

1 or 2 may be able to hit it in the general direction of goal, Scott Browns strike at Aldershot being the best, but Larry Wilson is the only one IMO who I have seen beat a player or two and have a decent shot. I think Kevan Hurst has the ability and maybe Danny in a months time if he gets more than 4 hours on the pitch by then
