Partnerships now

Postby George Dawes » Tue Feb 15, 2011 6:15 pm

it's going to be interesting to see how out of 4 strikers who will both form effectively the best partnership together

you could id say if Carlton is fit play him & Spencer but seeing Jevons is one of our own lads and not on loan like Spencer

maybe it's best to form a Carlton & Jevons as a partnership and build now for next season as am sure Danny will earn himself a longer contract, and am not that sure we have that good a chance of getting Spencer permanently as we did with Jevons because Huddersfield seem to see Spencer as one for the future

Paul Mullin tonight Shown how good a impact sub he can be

plus the thought of Danny getting onto his knock downs running through on goal

got a few options now for Saturday although i think Danny will start on the bench

Spencer and Carlton/Mullin up front, Jevo looked and acted uninterested last night, and need a rest.

Roche
Holdsworth Parrish Charnock Capaldi
Hunter/Brown Drummond Fleming Wilson
Hurst
Spencer

This could work.

I like the look of Hurst and wouldn't mind seeing his influence a bit further forward. He can use either foot, hardly wastes a ball, finds his team-mates well and has netted a few in his time.
Use him... ahem!.... in a kind of Van Der Vaart role.

Carlisle spent a lot of money to get him from Chesterfield due to his goals from both wing and central positions. Carlisle fans reckon he was excellent in the middle playing just behind the front man. It was only an injury that stopped him being a regular in that position. He scored quite a few at BOTH clubs.

SURELY our manager is aware of this :?: :o :o :o

If not , then WHY NOT :?: :?: :?: :?:

Why not a new strike force of Hurst and Carlton? They do know each other from their respective Carlisle days after all...... ;)

He was brought in as a direct replacement for Mark Duffy because, frankly, we don't have anyone else with his quality on our full payroll. That a good enough reason?

So when we aren't scoring goals and yet we have a player on the books who has already shown a tremendous ability elsewhere to score, we don't make use of it......??????

We did play a 4-4-2 diamond for a bit last season... Hurst I feel could slot in well at CAM, feeding through balls to Carlton. It asks a lot of Drummond but it gives us options going forward.

CC, do you ever look into the facts before you spout your shit?

Hurst has scored a grand total of 21 goals in his entire career with only 15 of them coming in league games and the most hes ever got in a season is 5 with only 2 of them being scored in the league.

Where have you got this idea from that he's a goalscorer? Hes hardly prolific!

I'd play Fleming instead of Hunter and Bentley instead of Charnock.

Hurst got himself into a fantastic position last night having beaten 2 players on the right to get him one on one with the keeper only to powderpuff it straight to the goalie. He's good, but he lost it on that occasion. It's great to see someone have a go for a change :D

I'd like to agree with you there CC, after being rudely told by the same person that my opinion is "bollocks."

the popular 4 2 3 1

Roche
Holdsworth Parrish Bentley Capaldi
Drummond Wilson
Hurst Fleming Carlton
Spencer

Wilson could easily do that job in midfield with his defective experience and would thrive on making late runs into the box and hitting first time rockets with his left foot
