I'll admit I've not been his biggest fan (though I obviously appreciate what he has done for us) but I'm quite pleased at this news for a couple of reasons...

1. We finally have some pace up front. Ok, you might argue he's not a natural goalscorer but this is the kind of signing I think we needed - someone to work hard, run fast and give defences something to think about instead of our current knock-it-around-but-not-get-anywhere approach to attacking.

2. The fans are down as are the team. The return of Danny will raise spirits I think. We'll certainly be hearing an old chant we've not heard for a while come Saturday.

Welcome home Danny. Now help us get up that table!

Excellent news.

Should raise the spirits on the terraces (and us in the W & L !)

Some pace to hit teams with.

Now Sammy , just bring back Stanners and we can start winning :D :D :D

This shows how much ambition the club is showing, signing a striker who has scored 5 goals in 3 years or whatever his record is.

He is a club legend, and I hope he does well. I can't see it though.

Judgement very much reserved. Scorer of arguably the most important goal in our entire history, but, even accounting for injuries, is he really the man we need to get us converting chances and firing on all cylinders given his goal scoring record both with and without us? Clearly we aren't holding out much hope of getting anyone in the loan window. Still, he can't do any worse than our current crop of goal-shy strikers.
Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I've loved them all.

Hope he forms a good partnership with Jevons and rediscovers his hunger and passion for the game.

I think the club should consider a move for Justin Jackson, I could go take a contract down to Asda for him tonight if someone fancies coming with me?

I don't think he is the answer to our problems, but hope it works out. At the end of the day, danny has a lot to prove too because if it doesn't work out for him in this short spell I can't see him finding another football league club.

That said, I agree with what people are saying that it will give a lift to the club and fans and that's worth the gamble.

So we have striker who is out of work next season, he has to shine to prove he is worth a contract. A striker who has point to prove ( Not really given a chance at Bury ) A striker that loves the club and the fans.

or we carry on playing Jevons who is seeing out his contract after a very good career, I feel he may have lost his hunger and desire and to me Morecambe is just another club for him.

I'm still not convinced he's the answer, BUT, it seems to have given the fans a boost, hopefully the team a boost.
Somebody said DC and Jimmy Spencer could work well togeather, that I would like to see.

Hope he is still nippy enough to get on the end of box balls that others are missing through being to slow and Sammy should pair Spencer with him and keep Hendrie and Jevons until 70th minute as subs

Don't worry, chap. I don't think anyone thinks he's 'the answer' - just that, if he's fully fit, he 'may' give us a bit of buzz and another dimension in some part of a game.

Thing is, if he's not a big signing... just coming to see what happens, there's no pressure. Can't deny it's an interesting one, though.
