John Worth, Sports with Geography for wet days teacher at Morecambe Grammer, retires at the end of this term.

Was it really 37 years ago we started school together, his first day teaching in front of my first grammer school day. Any other 1W kids on here?

Obviously some things are forgotten over such long periods - such as how to spell Grammar ;)

I had Mr Worth for first and second years P.E along with Mr Alker and Mr Wilson for games and P.E through first to fifth years. All great teachers and motivators, Mr Alker and Mr Wilson sure dished out discipline but were very fair. If you tried your best, whether you were any good or not that was enough for them.
Loved the way Alks+Wilson used to pick teams for footy starting with least talented kids first and then argue about being left with year team captains at the end!
All the best to Mr Worth for his retirement.

Is She the same Mrs Hartley that taught R.E?
The R.E text books always had the best graffiti inside.
I remember a picture of Jesus stood by the sea of Galilee with a surf board under his arm!
I think Mrs Hartley was a bit worried about me when I replied to a question about why people have religious beliefs, stating "because their scared to die, miss".
I think she thought I'd end up on the top of a tower with a rifle shooting people, screaming
"ALL I WANTED WAS A PEPSI!"

I can't believe Alker is still there ! 24 years ago I was at MHS and I can still remember him, WIlson, and Worth very clearly. Why is it that your high school teachers stay firmly in your memory ?

err...

Mr err, ohh, erm... Mr Dawson! YES that's the one...

He was my form teacher for the five years! Yes, he's firmly in my memory!

And I had err... him for English.
Some bloke, then some woman for physics.
I did RE I think.
Oh and it may have been Mrs Hartley for Domestic Science, that name rings a bell.
Mr Evans for Geography (it was his class I climbed out of the window during)
Mr Crawshaw[?] Cronshaw[?] Leo Sayer[?] for Chemistry.
Mr Hagal[?] for Computer Studies...

Actually, I do remember Mr's Wilson & Alker for games and stuff...

Other than that... My high school teachers have rarely entered my mind from the moment I walked out the gate for the last time, throwing my blazer in the bin as I went!*

*Actually, I did quite like Mr Dawson, he was a decent bloke, who must have despaired of kids like me!

So how did that work out then?
