These things happen with players and clubs. I was shocked and dismayed when Stanners went on loan after being (imho) one of our best players since he's been at our club (for is it 5 years now?). It's good to have an explanation and view from the player (and Sammy last week) rather than just rumour. I'm glad Stanners is doing well at Torquay, as we know he is well capable of being a great mid-field play-maker, a free-kick and corner specialist and a player who can and does suddenly pick up pace to strike directly at the opposition or chase in mid-field to win the ball back. I think Stanners has a point to prove and I really hope he comes back to us after a successful loan, to reinvigorate our end of season run-in again. If he doesn't it must be because we have another mid-fielder playing the same role more effectively, with as much commitment, and creating as many chances from corners and crosses. We've seen Sammy do this successfully before with other players. So whilst Stanners is still on our books I wish him the very best, hope he continues to help The Gulls to deprive points from other teams around us in the table, and I look forward to seeing Stanners playing again for us, rather than against us, at the end of his loan.
Bring me sunshine, in your smile.
A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.
