am glad he got beat

he's said in his own words he's Scottish and not British and he's inspired by Braveheart, and was shouting for Paraguay against England in the world cup

There are plenty of Englishmen who shout for the opposing team when it comes to football, too! It was a complete non-story that was blown out of all proportion and was latched onto by people who would probably have found another excuse not to like him anyway.

The story originated from when a reporter kept saying 'your the number one englishmen' for tennis and he kept saying 'i'm not english, im scottish'.

The Andy Murray Official Rule:

1) If he wins anything, he is British
2) If he loses, he is Scottish
3) Regardless of rule 1 and 2, he is still a skinny moody w****r with stupid bumfluff.

I've got a lot of time for Andy Murray and tennis in general, especially when it is on at stupid o'clock in the morning and doesn't disrupt the TV scheduling for people who don't enjoy watching paint dry.

In tennis's defence, I like the one versus one battle of wills, and find it really enjoyable to watch. Each to his or her own, I'm sure you would agree.

Marky, I know your just being an individual, a thinker, a debater and throwing the odd bit of controversy into the mix every now and then, but saying this are you just trying to generally piss people off with your forthright views? :ugeek:

Tennis is for strawberry eating fat tory mess type blancmanges. Wimbledon does my nut in, subsidised by the masses for the enjoyment of the few. No eggheads for a fortnight, baggy trousers!!!

He beat 7th seed David Ferrer in the semi final. I do believe being 7th seed puts him in the top 15...

murray has a halfway decent record against federer (except in grand slam finals!). last time i looked fed was a top 15 player....

getting to 3 grand slam finals is a great achievement and he's still young. seems inevitable that he will win one eventually, and i hope it isn't bloody wimbledon! wimbledon is an embarassment and if he wins it we won't hear the end of it.

they should start a rival grassroots tennis tournament in protest...
