going by reading that he's talking about replacing Duffy, i still think a center forward should be the main priority now we have a bit of spare money to play with

Looking at the squad
Spencer will be back saturday and Jevons is almost back to full fitness
add in Hendrie Mullin and Shuker and we seem to have a few options up top
Its looking like a right sided player to come in which to be fair imho we need
hunter is injured and wainers is only just back from an injury and wont want to be rushed and get injured again

IT depends if he will actually play Hendrie, if so we then have 3 strikers plus Paul Mullin.

I would go for a tricky, pacy right winger.

am thinking building now for next season and the thing is Spencer is on loan and Mullin is a year older and already knocking on with his contract up in the summer and Hendrie the jury is still out need to see him over a few games over 90mins

and for me Jevons still as a future he just needs a fast powerfull target man to play off as a partnership and let Brown Wainwright and Shuker fight it out for the right midfield slot

Very good point.

We read constantly of attempts to bring in new faces PLUS the odd rumour about bids of £150,000 (   )for whoever.

Maybe this time we will bring somebody in. Let's hope so!

He certainly didn't look rushed yesterday Sean. Needs to practice his passing too. He gave the ball away far too many times yesterday. I respect that he hasn't played 1st team football and needs to get back into it. Hope his confidence isn't dented, not nice coming back from injury and being thrown straight in.
As I recall he came in as a right winger but was then played on the left, having got used to that, he then got injured and hey presto got put out on the right. He must be quite dizzy by now :?

Don't know why we seem to favour wide players i.e.this need to replace Duffy.
Why not try the Blackpool way and play to the strengths of the players we have got?
No point in playing someone on the wing who isn't a winger.
I think we could play 4-3-3-quite effectively, with say Hendrie, Spencer and Jevons as the front three and the middle three of say Fleming, Shuker and Drummond.
No real wingers there but it might work.

I heard we went for Leon Knight but he was too expensive.

Either we use Shuker as a ready made replacement for Duffs and move him to the right, bringing in a new striker or we keep things as they are and simply replace Duffy.

Either way, I'd like to see someone in their early 20's who is hungry and can offer some pace. I'd certainly rather have that than another "big name" who is over the hill and has no motivation to do well for us.

As has been proved so often, players must want to "die" for the shirt, otherwise the words "going through the motions" come to mind.

Started at Chelsea, then went on to Brighton, think he was labelled 'The Coca Cola Kid' after Brighton won the competition to win £250k for a player. Don't think he was ever at FGH, Wayne Hatswell was the goal scorer of that famous goal
