How many going then? Good distribution of leaflets. Didn't speak to anybody that doesn't know about the fans meeting. Is it all hot air or will a few people turn up?

A good cause. Now is the chance to have Tot say. Don't moan afterwards if you aren't there or at least.send a "proxy" in !

I will be there despite my many issues at the moment I am hoping that this meeting might restore my faith somewhat and there will be some good ideas to help improve the matchday experience for the fans.

I didn't think that Tuesday's meeting was going to be violent, but now I'm not so sure, after what you have just said.
Can anyone confirm that this meeting will pass off peacefully?

the way i understand this hopefully peacefull gathering is to discuss all the things that have
changed since our move away from christie park
1 the badge
2 the name of our new home
3 no junior reds (the futher supporters)
4 no acoustics in the mbw stand
5 poor food outlets
6 no buses to new ground
7 baning away supporters to bar and grill
8 less matchday parking
9 no gazibos drinking beer in rain

lets here from you what you can add to this list

I won't be there, but I hope it is a bit more positive than that! No point in forming something that is just going to be a moan (we've got Shrimpsvoices for that! ) While there may be validity in discussing some of the concerns you've mentioned, if there is little or nothing that can be done, then go swiftly past. For example, the badge & name are here to stay. Acoustics in the MBW can't be changed without re-building. Match day parking is beyond our control as fans and I can't see an easy way of improving that*.

So while there may be some reasonable grumbles worth mentioning, I would say that a positive agenda will bring more people back to future meetings/join up. For example, if the meeting elects a 'club liaison' who can meet with club officials to try and improve communication? The issues with the food (for example) can then be raised directly with the people who have the answers.

*A 'positive' approach to the parking and buses may be to approach Stagecoach or another provider to run 'park & ride'. That may have a positive outcome and cover the parking & bus issues. The car-park at the end of Northumberland Street, next to the old GPO building is hardly used, and is handy for the train station, so perhaps that would be a good 'park & ride'?

So how did that work out then?

The no buses to the ground is a big thing if I want to have a drink at a game it takes planning of military precission to get there and back from South Lancaster what with buses only running once an hour.

Can fully paid up memebers have a discount on beer if they produce their membership card? This will result in the members been more loyal to "Reds" instead of going elsewhere and also might entice members in through the week as well as it gives them more on an incentive.

I agree with Keith that some of the 'problems' raised there just constitute pointless moaning, like the ground name and logo. I suspect the agenda might focus on whether a fan club is needed, how it would work and what structure it would have. Then, once this is decided, consider what it wants to do to try and improve fans experience as well as help the club.

This is certainly preferential to turning up with a list of things to complain about and would probably lead to a much better relationship with the club.

I personaly would like the meeting to be about what we as SUPPORTERS can do for the club and for each OTHER to improve match day expriences for all (home & away).

And possibly find other common interests for all to get involved with.

And find a way to keep all Exiles more involved with whats going on.

Was going well at the half time interlude and I am glad to say the "supporters club" WILL be moving forward. Great turnout and interest from new members and old and good to see us all wanting to achieve the same things. Had to leave early as Darren was rambling a bit  but at the rate it was going they will all still be there when I get back- probably having had a pie supper there will be Bacon butties in a few hours time! Great to see the bar quite full on a none matchday!

We made it out!!!

I thought at one point we were going to be in for a long sitting like the house of Lords today and would be there for the night.

I am sure someone will be along to give you the detailed account.

Good to see lots of people there and excellant pie, peas and gravy far superior to what we get in the MBW stand :D

Well it went trouble free cos we tied Ben up around the lampost near the roundabout before the meeting started!

Personally I would prefer to hear from one of the existing/new committee members who will no doubt give a better account than the garbage I might spout.

Go on Paul make your 1st speech! Darren wont roll in for at least an hour yet!

Hope your youngen is OK Freez ;)
