It looked like the fan that hit the player was holding a stevenage scarf.

Absolutely unacceptable - a prison spell & a life ban from all football grounds would be the minimum sentence IMO.

It is totally out of order and unacceptable. Would somebody who punched someone in the street go to jail though?

Unprovoked assault ?! Maybe not, but morally you would like to think he could spend some time at her majesty's pleasure.

When current government policy is to limit prison sentences, there is absolutely no chance of anything other than a fine and possible community work unless there is a previous unspent conviction.

Maybe Berbatov should dive on his face and we might get a better idea.

Problems across The Bay at Barrow too it seems with alleged assaults this weekend.

Not their fans though. One of the Barrow directors, allegedly ...... :o

The worst aspect about this in my opinion is that it has overshadowed an excellent performance by Cheatenage. What a result, 3-1 against what was Premiership Newcastle United's best 11 available on the day. It'll have been a day tripper that shows up for the big games that has spoilt the fun for everyone. He probably likes public transport, debating and generally pissing people off with his forthright views.....

And also into the bargain, he has probably more than likely also put off some "floating" Stevenage fans from ever returning to watch the club due to his actions.

Such a great day for them, ruined.

Joking or not, inferring that this thug is in any way similar to me is uncalled for.

I was having a laugh. To be fair, your old signature was a bit anal making my bit of banter fair game. Pinch of salt.

I seem to recall the signature in question was originally a response to one of our previous altercations. Well, you or Mark S at any rate. Either way, twas time for a change.
