Totally agree but there's as much chance of that happening as me being on Sammy's Christmas card list!

He did us up like a kipper. They were never going to give it to a country that was developed and had stadiums that could have staged a world cup next week. It was just a waste of quite a few £millions by our FA. He had taken a world cup to Asia and Africa and Eastern Europe was next on his agenda.

The Aussies and yanks must feel equally peed off when Quatar was chosen for 2022. How much does that decision stink. What legacy will there be for that football hotbed

Very little but what probaly clinched it was their promise to give the stadiums to developing countries after the event. Sounds like it's going to be LegoLand on a big scale.

I heard somewhere that Qatar is approx.half the size of Wales & that it gets to 50C in summer, can this really be where the world cup should be played :?:

It's only a matter of time before the North Pole will be hosting a World Cup!

I said it when the Qatar announcement was made and I'll say it again. It won't take much now for the big footballing nations to go it on their own and set up their own world cup, ignoring FIFA and, possibly (though I wouldn't favour it) keeping it exclusive to those big nations.
