Alright guys, Morton fan here. As I understand it, he's just in talks with us at the moment and hasn't actually signed, but there's a positive shout that he will be a Morton player in the next 48 hours.

Just looking to get a little more info on Jon, don't know too much about him. What sort of player is he? We do sort of need a guy who can come in and score a decent amount of goals as we did struggle to find tha back of the net last season. Could he be the man to do this?

Any information welcome.

Ah. Sounds quite a bit like one of our current strikers Iain Russell, which is what i had taken from any article I had read on the player. Am i right in thinking that he's very pacey also?

He's not lightning quick but he isn't exactly slow either.

IF: he stays fit, gets picked and gets decent service.....He'll score 20 goals a season IMO.

At the start of the season i rated Mr. Newby.
So much so, i sponsored said Mr. Newby for £10 per goal.
For the good of the Club, i'm proud to say he cost me £110.... and for that, can't say i saw him play for enough in the League..
Season ticket holder, yes. You play him, he gets a chance... he'll probably score.
Sorry to see him go.......yes, personaly, i am.

Looks like we've signed him on a 2 year deal according to the press. Nothing on our official site yet but it's never the quickest to report news, especially on the weekends. Hopefully get out first look at him tomorrow night in our first pre-season friendly.
