Spencer, Charnock, Brown and Capaldi.

Spencer, Charnock, Brown and Capaldi.

Postby Matty the Shrimp » Sat Nov 27, 2010 8:23 pm

What do we think will happen with all these lads when their contracts and loans end?

Personally i would like to see Charnock stay on, he looked excellent.
Although i think Brown should be off loaded and with the wages he frees up, we get a pacey winger.
As for Capaldi and Spencer, their wages could easily go towards a very good striker.
Main thing is, is the board opening their wallets and spending a little on some decent players rather than looking to freebies and loanees. A good football club can't be built on those foundations in my opinion.

Well its not his fault. Its the way in which Sammy plays him. Why play a right footed player on the left wing?
It doesn't bring the best in him. So why keep a player that isn't playing in his correct postion.

Its not me thats clueless. Its Sammy.

I doubt we will be paying any of Spencer's wages. Most of the time the bigger clubs continue to pay them or at least most of it.

Initially, I was unconvinced about Brown - he seemed like a workhorse with no pace or left foot brought in to play on the left flank. However, he's won me over a bit with his work rate and willingness to "have a go". We should keep him for the rest of the season IMO.

Charnock - looked promising today but lets see how he gets on.
Spencer - Not played enough really. Worth extending his loan but not at the expense of bringing in a fast striker.
Capaldi - We could do with Wilson having some competition but Capaldi should be released based on what we've seen.

Can't see he will be on that much anyway he's only in the reserves at Huddersfield.

He's not great but clueless is a bit harsh

Get rid of capaldi
keep spencer, his movement is good, up for it, he's physical and sharp, better than mullin although a legless chicken is better than mullin

How can you say that?! PM is the ony player that should be in the team regardless and makes a difference every week. Play Mullin and Jevo (obv when both fit) and shuker and Duffy (Rundle sub) both wings. And we would be in a much better position. SIMPLES

That is just my opinion. No matter what though, Mullin is class, how anyone can suggest he shudnt be playing? He is like a lower league Kev Davies. Striker.. doesent score enough goals, but he contributes to the overall play time and time agaiin.

Spencer - Out, if it means signing our own striker.
Charnock - Looked awesome yesterday, deserved his MOM followed closely by Stanners.
Brown - We have to keep this lad.
Capaldi - CC is the only person that wants to keep this guy. Says it all.

Even you are entitled to an opinion...although at times it's wrong ;)

Quite a few would and do disagree with you (and others) about Capaldi. Let's not forget that SV's is only the mouthpiece of a small number of fans.

My knowledge of Capaldi is based on more than just his failure with us. It was also based on his utterly inept performance for Leeds against Kettering in the FA Cup last season, after which he spent the rest of his loan barely warming the bench. It seemed pretty clear that he couldn't cope with the demands of lower league football and now can't even get a game with us when we are short defensively. He's been a waste of a wage and should be removed from the club at the earliest opportunity.

Not defending Capaldi who hasn't impressed me either but I think Wilson started playing more like his old self when he got his place back after Capaldi's signing

Although Wilson is definitely wasted as a left back in a flat back 4.

His pace and ability to beat a man is breath taking. If we insist on 4-4-2 he should be on the left IMO, but that means playing Capaldi
