what match was this BBC reporter watching ?

Morecambe 1 - 0 Port Vale

Port Vale were knocked off top spot in League Two after Kieran Charnock's goal gave Morecambe a vital three points.

Charnock put the hosts ahead against the run of play when he sidefooted home from Laurence Wilson's cross-shot after a short corner.

Vale piled on the pressure before half-time with Marc Richards going close and Doug Loft firing just over.

The visitors continued to dominate after the break but Justin Richards twice missed excellent opportunities

No mention of Spencer's shot that the keeper saved or the numerous chances that we had in the second half?

Oh its the BBC? That explains it. He probably thought he was watching The Shrimpers...

So how did that work out then?

Excellent result and we deserved that bit of luck today.

Vale looked good all over the park but thankfully their strikers failed to perform as they normally do.

Still too much space allowed in midfield which invited their midfield to run at our defence, but Charnock and co looked solid.

Spencer looked absolutely knackered when he came off. I'd like to see him with us for the remainder of the season. Plenty more to come from him as he gets used to playing regularly.

The reporter was from BBC Stoke, so there is your answer as to the bias of the report

- may be not helped by the fact that on page 17 of our own programme it says Adam Yates '....was released .... by the Shrimpers'!

(No criticism meant Sean - great programme).

Anyway, who cares? Great game. We won! :D

Three things I noticed from the Football League Show:

On the brief highlights clip, the commentator said: "Port Vale did everything but score in this match."
I don't remember Barry making any fabulous saves, do you?
Steve Claridge stated that the Globe is a tough place to go, and that Morecambe's recent record there is good. What about the fact we lost our last two home games and prior to yesterday had only won twice in the league all season at home??

Lizzie read out a text from Tony: "Port who???" :)
