when will there be a pitch inspection ahead of thursdays international game at the globe

Pitch inspection is at 12. Club have asked for helpers to remove the covers/snow this morning. i think the pitch will be ok, but as usual it is down to the surrounding areas. It is cold but not much fell overnight so I would go for 80% chance of being OK

At a guess its been called off by the FA due to Scotland players not being able to get out of Scotland due to adversed weather conditions!

Pitch is heavily frozen in goalmouth and towards the centre of the pitch, also rock solid along PMG touchline. Unfortunate but unavoidable.

I think the side by the PMG stand could cause us a few problems in the future.

Does anyone know what temp it's been getting dow to of a night I thought it was about -4, but it must have been colder as the covers protect up to -7.

Rod Taylor has said that parts of the ground are OK but even with the best efforts of everybody that the weather had won the day.

So the covers that had been on the pitch since Saturday still hadn't prevented the Artic conditions from doing their worst! I wonder if the shadow cast by the PMcG stand have contributed and if so it doesn't argue well for future games in similar cold spells?

Let's hope that the game is re-scheduled for a later date. The club are hoping to know by later tomorrow.

To be fair it hasn't been much above freezing for about a week. The height of the stand can't be blamed, especially as the pitch is covered anyway!

Can't believe they waited until the day to call it off with the weather that was forecast.

Authorities can't win sometimes regarding decisions to make!! Wild Bill says why did they wait until the last day to call the match off. If they had called it off yesterday, they'd have been criticised for not giving it a chance

I think it really depends on the forecast. If it was touch and go I would agree. With temperatures due to plummet to as low as -9'c I would have said it was always going to be a non-starter.

I think the covers are ok to -7 but we have had frost for about a week continous and i dont think any covers could cope with that.
