The game against Aldershot has unfortunately been called off after a pitch inspeciton this morning by a Football League official.

Bollocks! Thought there would be no worries with the relatively milder weather but I guess the pitch will take a while to thaw with two weeks of sub-zero temperatures. Long way for the Aldershot fans to come just to have the game called off at 10.00am tomorrow.

......more importantly it saves us having to pay for Aldershot's travel and overnight costs IF the game had been called off on match day.

I think the club has aired on the side of caution. If it was a local team I am sure they would have waited until tomorrow for the pitch inspection and we would have a game.

In saying that, looking around today there was a lot of rain puddles sat on semi frozen grass.

Which then begs the question: why does the fixture computer churn out a local derby v. Aldershot when we could have played say Bury tomorrow instead of September 28th,
which would have got a pitch inspection tomorrow morning and a bigger crowd as well!
