Lancaster, being a city with a castle, a cathedral, and a long history, has a wretched story to tell regarding every aspect of its history regarding football, can anyone think of a uk city with a sorrier football club.

Lancaster are in 'League 8'.

Teams worse
Lichfield City - League 12
Canterbury City - League 11
Wells City - League 10
Chichester City - League 9
Ely City - League 9
Guildford City - League 9
Welwyn Garden City - League 9.

Answer your question?

Durham City.

The cathedral is a lot better than the football team. They also had a very Lancaster City style run of results last season.

Wakefield, even though they robbed Emleys team they still linger on in the lower regions of the football pyramid. Used to be a trivia question; Largest City without a football league team? Of course the trick is that the administrative City of Wakefield is made up of about 5 or 6 largish towns including Castleford, Pontefract and Featherston. The total population is about 300,000....well inside the top 100 cities in the European Union.

SHOOT CAPALIDI, SHOOT SHOOT CAPALIDI!!!!

Where does it say cities with sides lower than Lancaster? This is a question you've invented in your head Mr. Dedication. Potatohead asked for clubs with a sorrier history.

The majority of the places you listed are much smaller in terms of population than Lancaster, the comparison is quite frankly ridiculous. Ely (a lovely part of the World) is smaller than Heyshem. Wakefield is five times the size of Lancaster yet has a side that operates at the same level.
