Flag day anyone?

Been thinking for a while that we need to do something to get the atmosphere started at the Globe. Rememebered going to an away game a while ago (can't remember where though!) when they had a flag day and it seemed to get the crowd going. Bit late for the Crewe game but how about the Port Vale game or Accy?

Who's up for it?

Yes mate, more colour at The Globe! More passion! Me and my mate have been banging on about this for some time. I've been following with interest the support of teams such as York, FC United and even (though it pains me to say so) Barrow. Always lots of banners, flags and colour. Looks very impressive and definitely seems to give everyone in the stand a boost. Stanley is going to be a great day. Hopefully we can get the ground really bouncing...

I found this site that sells flags in America, it is alot cheaper than any where in Britain.
http://www.flagsimporter.com/american/p ... -2x3ft-2//
100 flags works out at £109.00

could we have a shrimpsvoices collection and we could get some colour for the Stanley game.

Would willingly chip in towards a flag/banner, and know others who would too.We have to make the MBW home sooner rather than later

Crewe fans did a cracking job with their banners and it made the drab terracing look good.

Each year that this 'can we improve the atmosphere?' crops up in SVs things do feel better because everyone who hears/reads about it is ready to give it some wellie. I also suspect that the players get to know about it (yes/no?) and invariably give the fans a performance to sing about.

Last year it started with the Dale Cavesse and We Love You stuff, and the fans got on a roll which culminated in those unforgettable games at the end of the season. Anyone who was at Dagenham and heard the fans at the end of that 6-0 drubbing will know exactly what I am on about. Shrewsbury was another exceptional afternoon and the final games at Christie Park were unforgettable.

Me and Mrs Lion are already looking forward to the Port Vale game purely for the atmosphere...jeez it will be peculiar to have some other singers in the zone, almost like being at an away game where the singing is fantastic.

Also a Supporters Club would work a treat if done properly. It would provide a means for folk like us to donate a few shekkels for the Balloon Fund. Be warned though, it does take a lot of organising and the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will need to be deadly serious or it will fizzle out very quickly.

Mr. Lion there will be a plethora of red balloons descending down towards your direction. I sense PMG v PC, sorry, MBW stand will be quite entertaining although between us we need to dim down the sound from the Bay Stand

I think it would be a great idea and if possible, the Port Vale game would be a great starting point. We've had lots of grumbling and moaning on here. At some point we collectively need to turn this around and draw a line under the situation and accept what we've got is what we've got.

Get that 'match day experience' back.

As fans, we can do sod all about the catering or design of the ground, we can make it a fun experience once more, so I applaud any positive initiatives like this one.

A number of negative posts (including some from myself) this week to date.

Brilliant that this very positive thread can make life seem a bit better.

Totally in favour!

Go for it.

Lincoln City had a FANTASTIC display of flags on their recent visit.

What happened to that big "Bring Me Sunshine" flag we used to have ??

Great idea - I'm all for it.

Good to get a bit of positivity going after the events of recent weeks - we should do all we can to help lift the performance on the pitch. Let's all get behind the team and Sammy/Mark - starting with the Port Vale game.

Up the Shrimps!!
