Not for the squeamish this one :o

"Speaking of atmosphere even when leading there didn't seem to be any singing.... Unlike Christie Park the fans didn't seem up for the game and it was hard to believe this was the same group of fans that impressed me so much at Christie Park"

Whose this "tannoy bloke" anyway

It's a very honest article and one that I suspect a good number of Morecambe fans would agree with. It is just a tarted up version of Christie Park with money making bits added in. But isn't that what a lot of fans asked for? I also wouldn't describe the new stadium as 'fantastic'. The B2Net is fantastic. The Globe is merely ok.

Fair comment there are some good points in the article and it seems there is still an issue with signs around the ground and en route pehaps some signs on Morecambe Road and a couple on the one way system in Lancaster would help just so fans travelling by car know they are heading in the right direction.

Surely that should read 'The B2Net Lego Stadium ' is fantastic.

I certainly didn't want our club to follow where others have gone. At least we have a Stadium that we could afford without seriously putting the club into financial hock.

There are elements of the Stadium that could be better. That is not disputed. But given time those areas that give concern (rear of the MBW for example) will be given the attention that they deserve as and when the finances of the club allow.

The manager can't bring in loanees I suspect in part due to finances. Do you want the Board to invest in new players or the Stadium as and when the money is available?

As I see it, it's one or the other......

Bit of a harsh judgement of our ground but I suppose from first impressions (and not knowing the financial reasons for moving) that is what most visiting fans are going to think - particularly when you sit in the stand looking at the tiny North Terrace.

The one thing we as fans can do though is create a better atmosphere. There is no reason why we can't make it at least as good as CP for a normal matchday - if most of the 1,000 or so behind the goal get together and make some noise!

Here lies the problem! Most who did no longer want to or worst still don't bother going at all

a lot of the land we own around the arena what was going to be for fast food outlets and a hotel chain is surly in these hard times with money being tight is a pipe dream now

id like us to sell some of the land off at the front of the ground and use that money to finish off mainly the the north stand so the stadium is completely finished

No. The outline planning permission for hotel/food outlets has been given. We won't be paying to construct them , just act as landlords receiving rents. In the long term this has to be in the club's interests.

I have to say its a very fair review. Not a lot I can find to disagree with.
Also agree that our announcer should stop calling it "fantastic". Until that awful North terrace is knocked down and replaced with a decent sized covered stand then the stadium cannot have that adjective attributed to it.

Sorry DawZi but short term gain would prove to have long term financial losses!

Better to have a regular income and be able to plan accordingly. I well remember the club selling the cinder bank for peanuts...... :o

8/10 for the programme score isnt bad i suppose
68 pages we have mandatory 5.5 pages for football league sponsors
18 pages out of 68 advertising is the ratio
sponsorship is required to help keep costs down his own programme does the same and previously printed by our printers too
glad he liked the other 50 pages though

The accoustics in the MBW are terrible, and there are many old faces that seem to have vanished alltogether. All 15 of us will still keep on singing though

A cracking review and spot on.

Intresting they seemed to think the Bay Radio Stand has a good view and good acoustics will be trying it out myself at the England game.

When we can afford it and have high enough attendances I hope we build another seated stand on the north side of the ground but untill then there is no point in making any changes because money wise the club would lose out.

yeah i read that bit, but they also had a pop about it being raised and having steps leading up to it

if they build BRS so it comes down to ground level like normal the 2nd tier of advertising boards would have to go but you would then be able to fill the remaining empty ones scattered about helping it give a better feel towards the place

the brs end has a service track along the front so it would not be feasable to just take away the ad boards to make it bigger, i doubt the accoustics are any different anyway, the sound of our fans not singing would sound the same as the sound of them not singing in the mbw stand.
