has signed on a 3 month loan for Fleetwood from Oldham.

Might have been a decent signing for us but the usual suspects would have been having a go about his age (36).

we have lots of defenders but we have shipped 21 goals in 12 games so some attention is required to the defence. It may be topical but we need a defence review !

If we have lots of defenders why do we have a squad player at right back ?

Gregan is a bloody marvellous defender. I have seen him play more than a few times over the years for Nob End and The Latics of Oldham.

When I heard that Dickov was willing to let him go from Boundary Park, I was kind of hoping we might have waded in and given him an offer too tbh. Alas not.

Would have been a great addition.

These are the kind of loan deals you have to make when the rare chance arises, although 36 years old this guy knows everything there is to know about defending and has even more leadership qualities than Jimbo and that's saying something.

All decent sides are built on solid defensive foundations that allow your midfielders and strikers that peace of mind to fully express themselves and push on, This is not the case at Morecambe but it could have been with Gregan in there.

What a waste of a player of his knowledge and reading of the game going to Fleetwood

And also Greeg's seems to have mellowed out a bit from how he was at North End where he had a bit of a reputation for tough tackling, backchatting the ref, and being a marked man from the off from the ref's point of view. I seem to recall he used to have more bookings than the Krankies on the North Pier to his name !

 All valid points but this is what sets apart born leaders from the following sheep, What a signing for MFC this would have been even if only short term, I'm sure his influence on the younger players would have paid dividends......................................Damned shame!
