Two mates in front of me got the last two pies, when I asked why they had ran out he said they'll be ready for half time. I mentioned it was half time as it was 3:45 and noted the huge queue behind me. The reply was "oh is it?".
I asked why there wasn't food ready for the rush and he claimed they were too busy. How busy they can be during the first half I don't know, so god knows what they were doing all afternoon.

too busy! So they are not doing their job because they are too busy!? Like you say you have to wonder what they are doing if you had any sence you would start sorting out half time food in the first half so you could be ready for the rush at 3.45

heysham mfc mate, you are obviously not familiar with the set up, they ran out BEFORE the half time rush, coz they had nothing to sell apart from polo mints and hot chocolate

Get foddered before...
Get foddered after...
No need to get foddered in-between...
What is the fascination of queuing up for over-priced fodder just to complain about the quality, price, or length of the queue?

All part of the match day experience Peter, all part of the experience.

I've just got back from an evening at Blackpool Illuminations (walked the prom, not driven it. no chance !!) and the unbelievable queues of people trying to get into greasy spoon cafes, chippy restaurants in the side streets of Bispham had to be seen to be believed !!!!
Now that IS over priced fodder !! Crappy quality too on the whole !!

It used to be good food at a reasonable price. Today was the first time I'd had pie & peas at The Globe. Its unlikely to happen again for a long while
The crust was rock hard and it was more of a pea soup than mushy peas, far too much of it ended up in the bin. Why, when we had 'the best pies in football' at Christie Park weren't the same team allowed to carry on at The Globe?

I agree Keith. What we have now are just not the same. I've given up on them too tbh.
Having said that, at least we don't have those god awful Pukka "Pie" efforts ..... bleurgh.

Well it could have been worse just think of the chaos that would have been caused if they ran out of Polo mints!

And no cowing Bovril either! What are football grounds coming to????
Jasper Carrot would turn in his grave!
I remember being a guest of the sponsors at Stamford Bridge (a few years ago now, when they were sponsored by Commodore) and my wife asked for Bovril at half time. Champagen there was aplenty, wine by the barrel but no Bovril. But to my eternal surprise and to the eternal credit of the in house caterers, someone found some somewhere, and about five minutes into the second half, two piping hot plastic cups appeared! Fan-tastic!
