Was that name the winner of the competition to name the bar? If so why have a competition?

Probably to get people into the bar in the first place as you could only vote by being there. I know the Stadium is being officially "opened on Saturday but find it strange to "open" the bar with its "new" thoughtful name when many of us have been in it a number of times already. Anybody shed any light on what a V.I.P. is? Can't think the Friday tea time regulars will be too happy when they are kicked out at 4.30

unfortunately I have a prior engagement on friday, but I've been in a few times and the staff are very very good, and the bar manager ( I think his name is steve) is a really good bloke. maybe those of you lucky enough to be there on friday will get to meet the person who put the idea forward of naming the bar "the globe bar and grill"?

V.I.P. is for all the Block C season ticket holders but anyone that has a MBW stand season ticket will not be granted entry.................... ever

All MBW season ticket holders have to report to the ticket office to sign a form saying that
1. That they will not let anyone else play the drum
2. That their Morecambe scarfs all have a fire safety certificate (same applys to Pete Johnstons pants)
3 That at no point in the game will they sit on the terrace steps as you have only paid £15 to STAND.

If you fail to comply with any of the above, your season ticket will be taken off you and you will be banned for ever.

Or even at the game in any capacity on Saturday even?

Not keen on the title "The Globe Bar and Grill" tbh, as good as the place sounds from what I have heard from various quarters. The name sounds a bit too "corporatey" (if there is such a word!)

I would have liked a name like say, Clarrie's (after the late, great) or something like.

A selection may well be in the roof terrace. I hope the McGuigan family enjoy their day, we would not have a "Globe Bar and Grill" if it wasn't for them remember.

How about the "Bar With No Name" Bar

I have heard one unnofficial name for it is "Stabby's Bar" :o

It could be called the "New York" in honour of the Old York? :o

Seriously, all this talk of VIPs is very divisive and a slap in the face for fans. To me real Morecambe FC VIPs are stalwarts like Pete Johnson or Garry Hockings or Carlisle Paul or Posh or Shrimper, who put the effort in and make a real positive contribution to the club as fans.

As someone has said, the smart money is on the fact that the VIPs will never use the bar again.

Slowly losing that family, community feel! :(

Well said Happy Harry. My feeling that the regular home fans are being neglected, maybe a lot of us could have afforded to be in block C but chose to remain with the REAL fans, going to cheer the lads on with true enthusiasm. Dare I suggest that even the players may feel they are coming second to all this big business push. Agreed the club needs to make lots of money but it is MORECAMBE FOOTBALL CLUB - COME ON THE SHRIMPS

Fans in block C of which I am one are every bit real fans as I am sure the fans in the MBW stand are as well.

I wouldnt set any hares running with the 'Block C' wind up that Half time results mentioned. Despite what Christies Child thinks Block C fans are no better than the rest. They just pay extra to use a facility that the rest of us use for free!

My point is that if they are looking for real VIPs they need look no further than some of our own fans that are unsung heroes and contribute a lot to the club without blowing thier own trumpet.
