So, Jev Is Available for Selection Tomorrow

So, Jev Is Available for Selection Tomorrow

Postby marky No.1 » Fri Sep 24, 2010 10:07 am

Answers please? These are what I think will happen, not what I necessarily think should happen.

Does he start? ~ I say YES

Does he have a strike partner? ~ YES

Mullin or Spencer? ~ MULLIN

Stanley? ~ NO

Wilson? ~ NO

Go for the jugular and we will score 3, although I think we will struggle to keep a clean sheet.

Barnet have a new striker available and will be desperate to improve on their away form, so it won't be plain sailing I.M.O.

As much as I like PJ I think Sammy should start with the team that finished last week, with Spencer given the opportunity to earn himself some extra 'brownie points'.

Having said that, no doubt the manager will revert to a single striker namely PJ and refuse to change it even though the fans will be calling for 2 strikers...... ;) ;) ;) .

Wondering should Sammy start Jevons all depends on if he is fired up like he was last season scoring all those those and playing half injured I say start Mullin and Spencer and bring Jevons on second half for Spencer

You never know but Morecambe are on a run due two last week result.

I would like to see shuck er off and bring in Jevons instead of Spencer

I remember how good Barnet was last season at cp

Doubt it. I'd think he'll use the 'now that we've come up with a team selection that's won a game... stick to it' approach.

I reckon it'll be:

Roche
Parrish McCreadie Haining Capaldi
Duffy, Drummond, Hunter, Brown
Jevons, Mullin

Unless he wants to make Jevo fight his way back in, in which case.. Spencer.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

personaly i would like to see Spencer & Mullin as partnership get a chance they will both put themselves about and show more of a presence on a pitch than Jevons

i think SM will definitely start with these and then who else i dont know

Roche
Parrish McCready Haining Capaldi
Duffy Drummond ? ?
Mullin ?

Well whichever way we start, gone are the days when most of us (and the players) knew at least what the starting 9 would be. This shows the depth of squad we have but we find ourselves waiting till the clocks go back before we get back into that mentality again.

As Glen says we have now found a winning "team" so can't see it being tinkered with too much

I really would hope that Jevons is picked if fit.

It really is a strong squad. Jimbo must wonder where his next opportunity will come from.

Jevons to start I would start Spencer

yes to strike partner agreed and it has to be Mullins(we are playing Barnet ,we need 2 strikers)

Stanley no He should start and probably be captain. apart from his open play he is the best deadball kicker for corners freekicks etc

Wilson no Capaldi obviously to start at LB. What will happen if Wilson gets peed off and moves on and then Capaldi finds a bigger club?

we have to go at Barnet on the ground , with pace and it should be a comfortable win

I think it should be

Roche

Capindi sorry 8-) Haining mccready Parrish

Duffy Hunter Drummond Shucker or Stanley Brown

Mullin up front by himself

i think sammy will go 4-5-1 and if need to be bring on jevon or spencer second half maybe drop hunter for jevon or spencer 8-)

you never know he could play them both at once on the left side, it would be a usefull selection away from home

-------------Roche----------------
Parrish--Haining--McCready--Capaldi
---Hunter---Drummond---Fleming--
--------------Duffy---------------
-----Mullin----------Spencer-------

Give Phil Jevons and Loz Wilson a week on the bench; push Parrish and Capaldi forward as much as possible down the flanks; Duffs in a free role; and give Mulls and Spencer the opportunity to build on last week.

I like it but it'll never happen.

If Jevons it's match fit then he should start if not then Mullin and Spencer up front and maybe give Jev a bit of a run out towards then end of the game.

Roche
Parrish Haining McCready Capaldi
Duffy Stanley Drummond Brown/Rundle
Mullin Spencer

I'm torn between Rundle and Brown. Brown has more skill/tricks but Rundle is a much better crosser. Mullin and Spencer do make a good partnership I think but I wouldn't mind seeing Jevons back in with Mullin.

Mullin Jevons

Bring Spencer on later to use against some tired defenders :)

Who'd be a manager eh? If he took notice of us all we would have 18 players on the pitch!

Too right! but i just can't see him starting Spencer, i think he would be a lot more effective just brought on later in the game, i also think Shuker may be the same!

Yeah, Shuker especially seems to run out of steam after an hour. With the bench we have it would be nice to make an impact sub at about this time. Oooo, hang on a minute, Spencer came on last week with 20 minutes to go and scored in the 73rd minute :D

Sammy says in his interview it will be the same squad as last week but with Jevons added to the squad.

So wilson on the bench for 3 weeks now. Why did I get him on my shirt

What I'd go for:

Roche
Parrish Haining McCready Capaldi
Duffy Drummond Fleming Rundle
Jevons Mullin

What Sammy will probably go for:

Roche
Parrish Haining McCready Capaldi
Duffy Drummond Hunter Brown
Shuker
Mullin

Close to our best 11. I think Stanley and Wilson form a part of our best 11.

IMO Wilson is our best attacked threat and produces some of the better crosses. He needs to be played left midfield instead of keeping him at left back where he can't get forward and will ultimately, at some point in the game, get booked.

Play Wilson in front of Capaldi and the rest of the team will take care of itself.

I kind of agree with you, but when Wilson played in midfield, he was awful. At Cheltenham it was as if he wasn't aware of players behind him. But he has a good shot and a good crosser. If he is to develop in to a midfielder, I'd like to see him play a few reserve team games in that position to see how he adapts rather than doing so in the first team.

wilson is one of our best players and playing him on the left midfield will give him the freedom to use his attacking talents whilst always recognising that he can do defensive duties.

if its something that sammy and wilson work on I can see it being really effective and add some pace to our midfield, particular when we are breaking away.

gareth bale being released into the left midfield postition rings bells? correct me if I am wrong there
