FLEETWOOD TOWN

Nice to see a very small town, just 7 miles from bloomfield road, population 26,000, with no further catchment area, frankly, pulling up trees, fair play to them and given the size of fleetwood, their fantastic local support, it is amazing, and i hope they make it into league football :!:

Adults- £12.50
Senior citizens - £8.00
Children (5 to 16) - £7
Students under 19 - £7
Under 5 - Free

if we are playing away, thats the price to watch SD, WC, CRANEY AND GRAND, 18 miles down the road :!:

Having been to two fleetwood home games last season, one was southport on new years day when there was 3,500 on highbury, i was very impressed with everything about the set up there. So much so i have backed them to get promoted [got very good odds]..They have invested heavily in the team and are currently building there £4 million east stand 2000 seats, which will bring there ground upto league requirements. CAPACITY will then be 5,500. This will be the final part of there ground redevelopment as they have already done the other three sides. There home end looks very similar to our new home end. All this since the club was only reformed in 1997.........Come on cod army, we hope to be playing you next season.

Year on year I've kind of been hoping we would arrange an away pre-season match at Fleetwood but to no avail ! It's many a long year since I was last in Highbury (1993/94 season in fact ! 6-0 away win !!!!) and I always liked the place, even when it was nothing like it is now what with its little seated stand (as it was then), cold open end behind one goal (as it was then), and the covered end that had FLEETWOOD TOWN emblazoned across the length of it in big white letters on a red background. Very striking. The bogs at that end left a LOT to be desired though ........
They used to have the BEST barmaids bar NONE in the Northern Premier League at one time !

Good luck to Town indeed, I would love to see them in League 2 and wow, have they come a long way since reformation. From the lower division of the North West Counties League to the Play Off positions in the Blue Square Premier.

And, now when I look at their fixtures, I am a bit disappointed to see they are playing away at Barrow this coming Tuesday (28th) as we are at home to Bury on the same night of course.

Damn. Wouldn't have minded going to that and standing with the Fleetwood fans (of course!)

I am I the only one who does not want Fleetwood to get promoted?
The players that we would normally sign would opt to sign for Fleetwood rather than us.

That sounds like a plan Phil does that one ... will put in my ever filling diary !

I would LOVE Fleetwood to get promoted. Think of that local derby, red hot, Lancashire derby atmosphere !!!

Not realy though about it but yeah you have a point! If they were to get promoted they would become our biggest rivals and with their support most player would go to Fleetwood rather than us!So hope Fleetwood do well but hope they don't finish higher than 6th!

The only bad thing about the rise of Fleetwood are the unsavory fans they have attracted from Blackpool (some on banning orders from Bloomfield Road). Yes - a game against them WOULD be interesting.

They've always had a few nobs in their ranks Mick tbh. They came to Christie for a Trophy match in '88 and brought a right load of plant pots with them.

I believe Barrow have had to give up their ENTIRE home end (The Holker End?) to travelling Fleetwood fans on Tuesday night. As you can imagine, the Barrow lot are not happy.

Oh how times change. I remember in the Lancashire Combination days of going to Highbury and they had park benches round the pitch. One of their visiting fans used to bring a klaxon with him ;)
