Good to see that they're opening the bar to the away support.

Reads like that wording has been lifted from the Barnet site and copied and pasted onto ours !

Hits the nail on the head though about our good relations with Barnet. I remember when Barnet won the title to get promotion from The Conference. They visited Christie late in the season and had a big banner (yes, another one !!) that invited all the Morecambe fans to go and celebrate with them. A top bunch if ever there was one.

Real shame they won't bring many up this time.

No point opening a big terrace for so few fans, it would mean more stewards and catering staff.
makes sense really

well for that reason was there any point building the north stand for so few, it would have made sense to have concentrated the construction and funding efforts on the rest of the ground being finished on time

and plus seen a lucratrive pre-season

Makes sence to close it realy they will only bring a few. Like the idea of letting them into the bar can understand the club banning away teams with a big support but it's always nice to have a chat with away supporters they may even come back next season (if we are in the same league!)

The home end was made smaller, and the paddock done away with, to guide people into the main stand, if, as the club state, they listened to the fans, why is there not a paddock in the main stand, why, if half a dozen blokes want to have a few jars on saturday and amble down to the globe, do they have to fart around getting tickets to sit together, then go off for a pint before requeueing at the turnstiles to get in a ground where less than 2000 will attend on saturday :?:

Saving money to pump back into the club at a later date makes great business sense to me!

Chester closed the away end when we visited, the only problem was it looked like we had taken no fans when it was shown on telly. Anyway, it makes sense to save a few quid if possible & they will be quite happy in the main stand.

Macclesfield closed 3 sides of their ground when we played them in the J.P.T.

.....and yet despite all the posts complaining about the home and away stands, it seems that we are being heralded as the way to go by a number of clubs re:standing terraces. Appears to me that the Board can't please some, irrespective of the bigger picture ie becoming financially secure and ultimately self-financing.

Top set of fans! Delighted that the powers at be have decided to let them come and have a drink in the bar. I seem to remember a few years ago down there place, a fair size group went for a pint in their 'pavilion'. Got our beers in, next thing the stewards tryed ousting us out. The barnet fans stuck up for us and basically saved the day. Fantasic bunch! Really good to see us having a good relationship with a southern team. :D

Don't see the point in opening up the Bay Radio Stand unless the away team is likely to bring more than 300.

Would expect to see this happening fairly regularly throughout the season and should improve the atmosphere (with the fans being closer together) and make more money for the club. ;)

I congratulate the board for giving us terracing but just wish it was more like the away terrace at Burton which is nothing spectacular but provides a good basic indoor facility.

interesting to read Alan Knill in the Manchester Evening News via this link.

He says we have invested heavily and well in players and have one of the best squads in the league.
