A big thank you from Kent.

Its Toby (the tall lanky Gills fan) here.

I just want to say thank you for your hospitality on Saturday. Made the trip a really good one. You certainly are a great bunch of fans, definitely the nicest I've met. How many places could you go to and play football with some local fans, be invited into the home fans bar and then have a beer bought for you? Unfortunately not many. We were planning on arriving at our B&B in Wigan (the £15 was a bargain we couldn't refuse) at 7, we didn't get there till 10:30 which shows you how welcome we were made to feel.

Would I be correct in guessing that we were the first away fans to have the pleasure of entering the Globe Bar. If true it'll be a nice thing for us to be able to say.

I think I may have to make Morecambe my second team in league now. Would be great to get to come up to you again next season, preferably in League One! Who knows, we could get you in the FA Cup or something.

If you come down in April we will try to offer the same hospitality, but I highly doubt Gillingham could ever be as friendly as Morecambe. Bring the kids down too, a rematch is needed.

At this level the fans are the football club and I'm sure Rob, Sherif and I will agree that Morecambe is a great club.

Good luck for the rest of the season, especially against Barnet (even if you have a good relationship, we cant stand their manager).

Thanks one again.

You 2 have done particularly well getting a drink out of Sir Stanley of Bowles, something not many of us can stake a claim too! Glad you enjoyed your trip, we aim to make friends wherever we go. 2 seasons ago when we visited your place and got drubbed 5.0 it was my lass's birthday and the local landlord (who has left now) made us very welcome even arranging a cake for her. Good luck for the rest of the season and don't be too hard on us when we visit you in April ;)

I must point out tho' for the info' of others our bar is just for home fans and if it had been pre match I don't think away colours would have got in? That's how I understand it anyway until the Club say otherwise.

Would like to think that the club will use common sense when deciding to let the odd away fan into the bar after the game. Officially I can see why they would state 'no away fans' but I can see no harm in letting a few friendly fans in for a beer and a bit of friendly banter. We are all human beings and the odd good gesture goes a long way....

Glad the Gills fans seemed to enjoy their day out. Any reports on what the 'official' away pub at the caravan site is like?

Glad you had a good time. This is a bit off topic but what was the name of the B&B you stayed in?

I was going to ask if away fans will be allowed in after the game.

I can't see any harm in it we used to let away fans in JB's and the more people in there the more money for the club and it keeps our reputation up as a friendly club.

I think as it was that late on and there was only three of them they didn't mind. They didn't look that threatening. I think they were more threatened by Paul
