Main stand almost full (if reports earlier in week are to be believed):-say2000
[approx 100 unsold due to restricted view]
Away end(looked full)--1389
Home end(looked full)--2234
North terrace--only about 250
Total:-5873!!!!
Attendance given 5003-----can someone explain?

Exactly what I thought. Looking aroundthe ground shortly after kick-off, everybody was thinking about 6000, but 5003? No way! Main Stand was almost full. Home Stand pretty full.
Reasonable amount in North Terrace. Away Stand, absolutely packed (around 1500 tickets sold). I'm sorry, but 5003 is just impossible!

I was told on Thursday evening there were just less that 1,000 tickets left, must have been more than 5003

I was told on Monday morning at 11am that there was about 350 tickets left for the MBW.
I am sure there was more sold after that! :?

I dont think the home terrace was anywhere near full - I was just below the top barrier and there was much more space than against Coventry.

Say if you take 300 fans away from the 2234 there is still a massive 570 fan difference. Does anybody know the capacity for the North Terrace?

The MBW stand was nowhere near as full as it was against Coventry, we could see the crush barriers quite clearly last night but couldn't in the Cov game. However, Burnley brought 1700 to Coventry's 500, so thought 5k was about right!
It will be interesting to see what we get Saturday with Gills not expected to bring more than a couple of hundred. 2800/2900 would be ok.

I sat in the main stand family area and there were burnley fans in there as i am sure there were in other areas, we never sold our allocation ,they provided more than theirs, we should have given them all the carwash terrace to push up the attendance, hot dogs have been reduced in main stand by 50%....IN SIZE :x :x

Yes, accusing the club secretery of fraud isn't a good idea.

Main Stand 2173 - Home Terrace 2234 - Away Terrace 1389 - Berlin Wall 606 -Total 6404 - In the shop yesterday at 1130ish all the seats had been sold except the restricted views (approx 100, which were not been sold) The away terrace was sold out, but tickets were available for the home terrace and the Berlin wall. Gate last night was 5003, so minus 2073 and 1389 gives us 1541 in the home stand and Berlin wall. Say approx 300 had been sold for the Berlin wall, that gives us 1241 in the home terrace. I was in the home terrace last night and there was more space around me than the game against Coventry, so the gate of 5003 sounds about right, but if the home terrace ever sells out (an extra 993) then i think we will see the same problems as last night in the away terrace, with fans unable to get on the terracing, so forced to stand in front of the barriers.

Who is doing that :?:

It seems to me that the home areas (standing) have not been sold to capacity for a reason.
I was told only 350 left (MBW) on Monday.....clearly more were available.(if they were for sale)

The Bay radio news reported a sell-out on Tuesday morning. Would they make that up :?:

All ticket games are going to take a bit of getting used to for fans who are used to just turning up and paying on the night.

Lots of folk probably couldn't be bothered making a separate trip to buy tickets from the ground in advance; particularly when hearing reports of massive queues and areas being sold-out when in fact they weren't. Therefore 5003 isn't a bad attendance (for little ol' Morecambe!)

The fact there was a big demand for away tickets though meant theclub couldn't sell any unsold tickets on the night. Remember this effecting the home crowd for a Christmas game against Carlisle a few years back.

Hopefully the club will start to promote telephone bookings for future big games and allow fans to book tickets on the offical website like I notice Oxford United now do.

It sounds to me like they might have got "no tickets will be sold after mid-day" confused with "all tickets have been sold"....

Who is doing that? Anyone who seriously questions the published attendance. By understating attendance, a club reduces the money payable to the visiting team. That's fraud so tread very carefully

I posted the above as I noticed one or two post's in this thread where from fairly recent members of the board. Given the time of the post and the probability that the mods where on a ferry or sat on Bondi with tongue hanging out,I thought I would offer a bit of "Good old" advice. It was read between the lines advice. Over the years several people have thought to their cost that message boards are "Liberty Hall" but casting aspersions can lift the latch on the kennel, and out pop the dog's of finacial hell. Just trying to help like.

I appreciate the words of caution, although probably not directed at me personally as i am not accusing anyone of anything.

It seems the capacity was either reduced, or we failed to sell to capacity. I don't think its a problem to ask or wonder why.

I am sure there is a very good reason for it. Good or bad.

So how do you explain the official 5,003 figure and the number of people you believe were inside the Globe last night?

You tell me Mr Gnasher. Just an observation. Not accusing anyone of anything. Although i believe your question was designed for me to say something of that nature..
