It was good to see the additional Bar behind the MBW stand. I am sure it helps when theres a big attendance.

We went in early Saturday night and were the only customers until around 6 folk arrived who'd just got back from Burton. I told the girl behind the bar they should have a sign on the main road to let people know that it's open (as from Westgate it looks shut, no lights or any indication and that was early Sat eve) she said the bar manager put one out but the 'big boss' (take that to mean whoever you like) told them they had to take it in.
I was hoping it would become our new local as I'd rather give my money to the club than the Mitchell but unless it picks up that won't happen.

I'm sure they're addressing that. They have new staff in place who are looking at all that sort of stuff as they get used to what needs doing. Probably need permission to put a sign on the pavement and will want to make sure it's a proper one that looks good.
I think it's a great bar and will pick up as people get to know it's open.
They'll start putting events on in time, I reckon.
I'll be in there tonight for the Spurs game.

yep great beer promo's

but the only problem seems to be getting served on big games .
last night i arrived at 7 and the bar was 3 deep and eventully got served at 7.20,
and i saw a few people just walk out again without even bothering

but i suppose it will sort itself out soon

We gave up after standing at the bar for 20 mins and not getting served.
We then went into the main stand and got served witin a minuite of arriving!

to be honest I'm really dissapointed with the bar, 'it's too small and certainly does'nt have the feel of a place to go at any other time than match days.

It's always interesting to see the many different viewpoints on subjects, for me the bar at the Globe is well thought out and looks good, has a nice feel to it and is good for both evening and afternoon use. It's not a traditional style boozer as such, nor one of the 'living room' style pubs that seem to have sprung up of late, a bit of a take on a coffee bar meets cafe bar kind of feel.
