Now that really is the final nail in my football day.

Was thinking for last 20 minutes that Sampson was the only option up front against Accy's three centre halves.

Southport are struggling somewhat in the Conference Premier - our former player Alex Russell is Assistant Manager there - and were beaten 0-3 at home yesterday by already relegated AFC Telford United.

From the Southport forum re Mr Brodie :

If I have one gripe it is for Brodie - he's a good player on his day and has more than sorted out his discipline but - he has to start playing to the whistle, let the ref run the game and ditch the theatrics for no other reason than he is a rubbish actor.

Garry Thompson scored a headed goal for Notts County yesterday which relegated Yeovil Town back into League 2 for next season.

Notts are still in danger of the drop too.

In today's "The Football League Paper" there is an interesting article in the "Where are they now" Fleetwood Town team of 1984/85.

There are a number of players with Morecambe FC connections :-

Chris O'Donnell (he played here under Les Rigby)

Laurie Milligan

Roy Dobson (was he a reserve keeper here ?)

Steve Trainor (I remember a Trainor but not sure if this guy played for us)

Ian Cain

There might be others too.

also in the paper Aaron McGowan talks about his team mates. "Worst Dressed" Andy Fleming. "Late for training" The Manchester lads especially Andy Parrish.

It is definitely the same Steve Trainor mate, yes.

Larry Milligan brought him here in the summer of '89.
