Just watched Tom McCready playing for Colwyn Bay away at Caernarfon Town on S4C.

Seeing The Oval ground of Caernarfon again took me back some years…..

I remember going there when fans could travel on the team bus. I think it was a 3-3 draw after Morecambe were 3-1 down with a few minutes left. They had a big centre forward maybe called Austin Salmon or have I made that up !

The coach stopped at a pub on the way back and one of Morecambe's players (a Scouser could have been called Diamond ?) drank 6 pints of lager in no time. Someone said he used to sleep in a bus shelter !

Yes , you are correct. Just googled him. He played for Morecambe in 1988 and was one of the players that Joe Woj. took to Colne Dynamos. I was wrong about him being a Scouser , maybe he just lived there , he was Scottish and played for Workington and Barrow amongst many other clubs.

Doubt there's many in this division with such a long contract.

Doubt there’s many in this division with such a huge pay-packet!

I wonder if he's sulking, or actually making an effort? Probably been told his agent has a move to Real Madrid lined up for him in January window.

Jensen Weir back to Brighton

Maybe 6 month loan for him would be good

What league do they play in. Love it if they gave Lancaster a tonking !

See what happens tomorrow then! ;)

Two of Hyde’s forward players have previously played for Morecambe.

Their top scorer Jack Redshaw scored 38 times in 129 games between 2012 and 2015.

He has netted on 14 occasions so for this season.

Lewis Alessandra had two spells at the Shrimps earlier in his career and has scored six times during this campaign.

Lancaster City v Hyde United kicks off at 3pm on Saturday (January 13) at The Giant Axe.

Redshaw & Alessandra both scored in a 0-4 defeat of City. Anyone remember when Lancaster were our rivals?
