O/T Disability Youth Club

O/T Disability Youth Club

Postby Keith » Fri Aug 20, 2010 12:47 pm

The Leonard Cheshire Disability 'YouthAbility' are youth clubs for kids who have disabilities and their friends & families. They operate in Kendal & Barrow. They are totally funded by voluntary donations and at times exist from hand to mouth, so any money is a big help.

There is a NatWest community fund which will go to whoever gets the most nominations. As it is the first time they've done this, it may not be well known yet, so literally a few extra nominations may be enough to swing it so if you've got five minutes to fill in a few details and cut & paste the rest from this message, it could make the difference between the club folding or continuing!

After postcode entry and 'find local branch'...

Name of Project: YouthAbility Cumbria
Telephone: 01539 739478
e-mail & postal addresses:
River View Centre
Beezon Fields
Kendal
Cumbria LA9 6BL
Email: sue.mclellan@LCDisability.org

Why are you nominating this project?:
The project provides youth clubs for disabled young people their siblings and friend and supports and enables them to achieve and enjoy within a safe setting and at the same time give families / carers a break from their caring responsibilities. The project does not benefit from any statutory funding and relies entirely on voluntary income.

or of course, write what you think is more appropriate

Your five minutes could make the difference! Thanks.

Thanks for that, it appears you have to start one page earlier to enter your postcode. I've edited the original message so the link should now work...
