Your quite right Sean I always get those two mixed up. Sowaddywaddy did : 'Under the moon of love' ; 'When' and 'You got what it takes'.
And according to Wikipaedia there's another Oakes son / brother who is/ was a footballer Scott Oakes : Leicester , Luton , Sheff Wed & ended up at St Albans City.

Cheers Sean. Even though they say all sections of the ground, I've just rung them up to double-check and it DOES include the away section.

He's also the one who scored from that superb free kick for Wycombe at CP back in March. ;)

Don't know but think Ben Challenger, the British athlete, is his son.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

This sounds like a blatent marketing plan to get people in for a game where there may not be too many away fans - maybe we should have done something like it against Dagenham????

That was the case, my argument is that teams like the Daggers will not bring too many to Christie Park - we need to entice the locals.

Lincoln were always going to bring loads to that game - I found out at Lincoln by just asking the fans - the club need to be pro active at the away matches to find this info out themselves. Plus their knowledge on ex Conference teams ;)

i wouldnt have gone for a fun day the day we played Dagenham Mick
to many away from the club and no disrespect, this still sounds like a non league game?
i think we need a fun day either early maybe first home game or late in the season maybe last home game with some fine weather thrown in whenever that shows its face
just a personal view.............

Take your point Sean but it still could have done with some sort of incentive for what would have been a known badly supported game. We dont need such things when we know we will get a decent away support.

BTW - lots of our games in this league now sound like games from our Conference days.............. Chester, Shrewsbury, Accy, Daggers, Aldershot, Exeter, Barnet ;)

With regard to the Oakes, Andy Oakes, keeper at Darlo is the nephew of Alan Oakes, former Man City player. Michael Oakes who played for Villa and Wolves is Alan Oakes' son.

Another nephew of Alan Oakes currently playing is one Chris Blackburn...

It must be true what they say about football - its 'one big family' ; sounds like there all related to each other if you did a family tree.
