I have seen the future...

..... and it’s not garlic bread it’s The Globe! Had a guided tour and it’s amazing. :D Feels like an updated Christie Park with fantastic facilities but the same character and friendliness. All the excellent pictures that we’ve seen just don’t do it justice as that feeling when you walk in doesn’t come across. I just can’t believe what has been achieved in less than twelve months. I’m sure that there will be a few teething problems but that is only to be expected with a project of this size, but after Tuesday when everyone finally gets in that won’t matter. ;)

We must all remember the reason for the move from CP. It wasn’t to improve the North, Car Wash or Umbro stands. It was to make our club financially stable without having to rely on huge subsidies from directors. The Globe corporate facilities are absolutely superb and will bring in the revenue that we need. The sponsors boxes, function rooms and kitchens on the 1st and 2nd floors will match and, in some cases, out do clubs far higher than L2. The local business community will love it! All through the PMcG stand there is a feeling of high quality and attention to detail. The seats have loads of room and a superb view, although anybody scared of heights should certainly avoid the high rows! :o

When I stood in “my” spot in the middle of the Home Stand the lump in my throat from the last match at CP came back. It felt right – not like the “Chesterish” plastic grounds that seem to be in fashion. The atmosphere will be absolutely amazing! All around the ground, spectators are close to the pitch which incidentally is exactly the same size as our old one. The pitch itself is suffering slightly from the recent bad weather but that will soon be sorted now our ground staff are on the case. :)

The revenue that the Globe generates will provide stability, finance the future developments to the ground and enable the team to continue to be strengthened. The future is very bright and red! Roll on Tuesday and the start of a new era.
:D :D :D

Ah. Now is that my taxi to the airport or a vehicle owned by an erstwhile singer of your acquaintance? If the former, then obviously the price will be much higher. Has your daughter worn it out? :o

My feelings exactly. The pitch side view is very impressive.

For me, we've retained all the charm and character of Christie Park but moved up market in terms of revenue earner. So glad that we've not followed other clubs and done our own thing.
