Latest Globe pics

More photos taken this afternoon at the Globe are available on the new ground web site.

See http://www.globearena.co.uk :geek:

All sorts of areas now finished, though some bits are hard to see as they are carefully covered up to prevent damage as work continues round them. The pitch is now in the care of the club's own pitch staff.

These pictures fill me with excitement. Looks almost complete now, just a few added little touches inside the stadium :D Any idea as to when the barriers are going to be painted, i'd hate for them to be plain metal.

Looking fantastic! Fans, players, staff... EVERYONE is lucky. We now have a brand new stadium bringing in revenue 365 days a year, looks fantastic, better facilities, fantastic team, fantastic fans. loving it :D

Bring on a week today (Tuesday) :D

is the new home stand as high as the old north stand? doesn't look like the top step will give as good a view, and that terrace really does look tinpot

Where have you been? The home terrace is about 1/4 smaller than the old North Stand. The structure is much smaller, which is perhapys why it looks a little bit small on pictures.

looks impressive! although am still curious there must be a long term plan drawn out of the north stand

with this rumoured 10.000 capacity plan of the ground and the use of the north stand being made into more sponsors boxes & offices

am sure people would love to see it

Congratulations to everybody concerned.

It's not followed the tried and tested (and tired) format of other grounds and as a result we've got a stadium that COULD set the bench mark for others to follow in that it's been designed as a Community Stadium, not just a football stadium.

We should be proud of what has been achieved.

It's now up to the Community at large to make use of ALL the facilities available.

Would imagine it will be like the North Stand at Christie Park. I don't think there were any walls etc' at the front of that, just the large triangular advertising signs which serve as a dual purpose barrier as well. No doubt the Globe will be the same.

Looking great! Can't wait for a week on Tuesday.

As it finally evolves into the finished article I notice the moaners are becoming fewer. :D

To be fair the home end looks almost as big as the North Stand was and I recon it has only about five steps less, plus a little extra lost space where the wheel chairs go.

Ground looks great and only wished they would have built up the side terrace a bit higher. Still, five steps beats the four we had on the Carwash stand!

On the positive side the stadium is looking pretty good, negative side is the Globe Wall, looks awful, i think there will be quite a bit of ducking and diving going on during the games for anyone that dare venture onto that stand.

One step at a time = steady progress 8-)

In 500 years time we will have nearly 20 steps!

It's CC's long-range in-the-bushes viewing aid.

Quite what he was viewing in the changing room - I dread to think.

I would actually guess as much as 10 steps less in the new home stand compared to the North stand at Christie maybe more. As for hight I dont know, (if someone has figures on for both that would be nice) but the roof of the North stand was rather large so some hight will be lost there. I am actually fully in the camp that the less steps will create a better home atmosphere.

My biggest and most important dilemma is what nick name i am going to use for the open terrace. I like the 'new carwash' but the 'Berlin wall' is growing on me. theres only one way to find out.........FIGHT. Incidentally i've thought of a song for the chesterfield game.

Four roofs, you're just showing off,
four roofs, you're just showing off.
