Same here. The squad we have now would get a significantly worse prediction than one with 2 or 3 quality additions.

Well I am backing my gut felling of thinking Morecambe will finish 3rd because last season considering the start we dont excellent to get a Playoff spot simple.
And I do think now Morecambe have 3 strikers on the books All we need is another center back with a holding midfielder .
I do think the team should train as much as there can and I do think we can go 2 Wycombe and get a draw.
So many teams can get top7 but usually you get few teams with mixed form like last season it was Port Vale

RedKnight 17th damm that is different .
Some fans already have tipped Morecambe not 2 get a playoff spot and this is understandable considering the amouth of teasm that can gain promotion .

I agree with this. As it stands, I don't think we have improved as much as I think we need to in order to be a team who can really compete with those eying a playoff spot, or better. However, there is still a lot of time for things to change, of which i am sure they will. I think it's too soon to predict where the season will end until the season begins (ie. most of the teams are in place and ready to go). Another two weeks and I think it'll be a bit clearer where everyone stands, not just us.

Have to say I agree doesn't Sammy normally say we have to improve every year just to make sure we don't go backwards. At the moment we have no replacement for Artell which could prove to be a big loss and I still think we are short upfront. I think we need 3 top signings before we have a squad better than last years. Rememeber we got rid of a lot of players last year, hopefully we have 2/3 quality signings coming in which will make the difference but it's to hard to tell at the moment.
I can see us having a slow start to the season as for the 1st game the players wont even know how to get to the dressing rooms in the ground
think it's going to take the first 10 games for us to get used to the new place and for the players to get used to the new pitch before we start seeing the type of football we were used to at Christie Park.

Key points to take into consideration:
We have an ageing spine to the team in Bentley, Drummond and Mullin, all of who aren't mobile enough. I expect them all to be worse than the previous season.
The new ground has been a shambles and the players haven't had a chance to get used to their new surroundings before the season starts and now the real prospect of us having to play our first couple of games at Ewood Park or Deepdale is looming. This is especially concerning when we typically don't start well anyway.
We've had a disrupted pre season which can't be good for preperation.
We currently have very little in terms of squad depth and the standard of trialists on display at Barrow was hardly impressive.
Defensively we need to improve from last season and we have only gone backwards in this deparment. Bentley is a year older, Haining is injury prone and Parrish is an unknown quantity at centre back in a 442 system whilst Scott hasn't played centre back for years. Darren Moss was hardly impressive at right back last year too.
Despite everyone acknowledging that lack of pace was a big problem last year what has Sammy done to rectify this? Nothing.
Taking this into consideration I will be surprised if we finish in the top half.

Erm Red Knight I dont agree.
We have a new football stadium with the locals fans turning up getting behind Morecambe your telling me that cant get the best out of say Hainning or Drummond.
Sorry we have players like Mullin last looks outstanding on his day I remember the Burton Albion game.
And we got players like Barry Roche , Gary Hunter , Mark Duffy , Craig Stanley .
We got a proven goal scorer and yes the squad is small and we did release Twiss , Curtis and Taylor but come on the boss did this for a reason.
I think we will still buy better player IE players that want to experience a new stadium in their career.
I still tip 3rd place

Matty 3rd place good move now people are tipped for high places.
I did think 2nd place about 4 weeks ago but Northampton / Port Vale i think will get 2nd and the team that does not get 2nd will come 4th.

Port Vale will definetly be good this season, along with Wycomb, i think we will come just behind those, Northampton are over-rated in my opinion. But still a very good club.
