O/T - World Cup, more predicitons

O/T - World Cup, more predicitons

Postby Plain Peter » Wed Jul 07, 2010 8:51 am

I'm bored.
Germany will score at least 4 tonight.
Spain might score, but it won't be Villa.
Germany will win, and score at least 4 in the Final.
Van Bommel will get sent-off at last!

Not according to the squid that has correctly predicted every German game result so far.

Spain to win against Germany and Holland to win in the final.

Okay

Germany to win on penalties tonight (making another of my earlier predictions come true).
Germany to beat Holland in the final - not on penalties.

I'm backing Germany now because any team that can do what they did to our team of world class players must be fantastic. We proved in that game, by scoring two, that we were much better than Argentina, for example (because that's how it works).

;)

Oh - and it's an octopus, you're getting your coleoidea in a twist mate!

Anyway - the last word (for now) goes to my pre-competition 'keep an eye on this guy' subject:

"Germany's Mesut Ozil has ridiculed England for saying they were bored between games in South Africa. Ozil said: "If you find the greatest tournament on earth boring, then you probably shouldn't be there.""
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Got part of mine right, and I'm hoping Van Bommel will get the red he deserves.
Can only admire Spain's performance though, and the spirit the match was played in.

That's the final I wanted. Didn't think it would happen but happy nonetheless.

Yep.

I thought Germany would contain and contain and either hit them on the break or keep them out and then beat them on penalties. And, going into the semis, they were my tip to win it. But I (just slightly - not too bothered) 'wanted' a Spain v Holland final.

i thought the same, and the Germans looked like doing exactly that after a slow start they were just starting to get Spain pinned back, then Puyol unmarked headed in!

Yep. He kept well away from all the 6 yard line crap that goes on, and allowed himself a run at it - excellent goal.
