Chesterfield - Copycats

Postby Morecambe Player » Tue Jul 06, 2010 9:51 am

I'm not sure when their new badge was designed, but I think they might have copied us. i.e. having their nickname represented on a shield, almost the same shape, with the club name on top...And apart from the CFC in it also, you'd think they'd plagiarised our design.

Oh well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all that!

I can't see the need for the 'CFC' bit when it says Chesterfield FC at the top but other than that I like the idea and it'll look good on their shirts etc.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Morecambe have got one in their new hovel

if they can get one in their 2000 seater we should have a very good chance of getting something soon

QUOTE (moondog @ Jul 6 2010, 10:13 AM)
If we make the effort to put ourselves forward, doesn't seem to take much, a word with Ray Clemence was all Morecambe did, surely we have a stronger case than them, bigger capacity more central location etc. Unlike Morecambe we've hosted such a game before, England v Scotland Schoolboys in the 70's.

I'm astonished they've got a game as it is a FIFA/UEFA rule that international games can only take place in all seater grounds - perhaps they are closing their terraces for the game.

They're always like that, as twisted as that damn spire! Don't forget how they treated Rochey and look how good he is with us, and I've heard from mates who support the likes of PNE and Blackpool who all say the same thing about the miserable buggers!

If they plagiarised our design, then we plagiarised Arsenal's by the same token!

It's hilarious reading some of their comments about us though, after they found this thread! Apparently you're "One little moist poster" John L :o (http://www.thecfss.co.uk/forums/index.p ... 25505&st=0)

It's funny out of their whole forum none of them see our threads our tongue in cheek, most seem to think we think our stadium is better or equal when theirs is based on size and ours is based on income. There is one sensible poster on there but cant remember his name, the rest seem to think if they shout really loud of their forum at us......we'll hear?

Their thread is hilarious. You would struggle to believe that until recently they'd never beaten us and we'd finished in the playoffs while they went down faster than the Hindenberg.

Who cares about the ground comparisons? Although our chant should just be 'echo!', when it's a 1/4 full and they're all sat down with an atmosphere like that on the moon.

Funny lot.

why do they really dislike us?

is anyone really bothered about them?

By the amount of bile that is directed towards them I would say yes there are those that are bothered and that could be the reason why SOME of them dislike SOME of our posters. END QUOTE

OK so Chesterfield have the "superior looking stadium" but now they have to pay superior looking prices for the upcoming friendlies their superiority is somewhat scuppered!

Should'nt laugh out too loud tho'. Don't know what our prices are yet
