I stumbled across this Basketball game which might help fill the void until the World Cup starts, or at least get you through to 5.30 and the weekend!
You can play in real time against the anyone else who's online at http://www.onlinegames.com/basketball/. There are new games every couple of minutes or so.
or I've set up an SV league at http://www.onlinegames.com/basketball/?vdxjniy4jc although I'm not sure how it works I think it just saves your highest score or something...
