Size of the pitch

I was wondering......as a football pitch has to be a minimum to a maximum length and width, and someone will know what those dimensions are, who will have made the decision as to the size of the pitch at the Globe? Will it have been decided by the space available? Or is it just pot luck?

Pitch has to be between 100 and 130 yards long and 50 to 100 yards wide.

Hopefully we've opted for a big pitch to encourage attractive wing play and passing football.

Or maybe we should have a small one to negate our lack of pace

How cool would it be to have a pitch 101 yards long and 100 yards wide? That would really screw up away teams once the home side gets used to it.

I hope it is exactly the same size as Christie Park was.

I think Mick B said in another thread about getting used to a new pitch and a new ground. For the first few months it will be like playing at a neutral ground for the players until they get used to the feel of the pitch and stadium.

Surely one way to help is to have the exact same size pitch as they were used to?

Hopefully we can make it a cracking atmosphere from the start to help them get used to their new home quicker! 8-)

needs to be fairly wide, Daggers is narrow isnt it

Nah...it needs to be as wide as possible to accommodate Sideways Stanley and High'ndWide Drummond.

Also as short as possible cos we have no rampaging young forwards, the old lads up front will appreciate a bit more time to get into the strike zone whilst Duffy mesmerises the oppo defense again...and again...and again

The pitch is going to be the same width give or take a meter, slightly longer, with more space for taking corners and throw ins, throw ins on the new car wash terrace will be easy to defend etc, the run up will be 100cm.
