I believe that the point of the Mascot being named Christie the Cat was that we could take the name of Christie wherever we go. Maybe he could lead the parade from Christie to the new Globe. Then Christie the Cat could lead us up Christie Way to our new home!

We can't just blank the name 'christie' out altogether and just because we're moving ground, doesn't mean the mascot has to be renamed. More reason to keep the same name if you ask me.
I can't see a big earth shaped globe with legs wondering round the pitch :!:
I think Christie leading the parade would be a great idea!

Is this our chance to get rid of that ridiculous cat? I'm all for keeping the name "Christie" alive but i do hate that moggy...
Christie the Invisible Mascot perhaps?

I used to agree, I hated mascots and was displeased when we jumped on the bandwagon, but having seen the way the kids in particular love him and the crowd definitely respond to him, I've changed my mind. Anything that gets kids in particular, enjoying the match day experience, the better because if they enjoy it they want to come back and their parents etc are coming back. Not only that, but they are the life blood of the club. In ten years time, there will be teenagers whose lasting memory of Christie Park is shaking hands with a big red cat!

Globey is not an option anymore, the person who bought the prototype says he owns all the rights, so globey is going to lancaster

There was a peice in the Daily Mail  today about Tony Roberts. It mention how the away fans at Morecambe love him due to a toy fight he had with our mascot 'Dusty the Cat' :?

The Globe deal/naming rights is only for 5 years so after that who knows? With all due respect to Globe, and they've done a cracking job. Christie Cat is more appropriate I.M.O.

and yes Christie leading the Parade is great but if Duffy comes along we don't want him raining on it!

Getting a high-five from Christie is the enduring memory my son has of our last trip to the pie. He is 9 and not really much of a football fan but he loved being at the game because when he got bored of the action he could watch Christie and go and interact with him.

Come on... it's fo't' kids !!

I think the big cat is ace, he/she does a great job on match days and interacts very well with everyone. I for 1 look forward to seeing him/her at the new place.

If I remember correctly the reason the name Christie was chosen was a deliberate choice to keep the link.

You remember correctly Mark. For whatever reasons, several people have filled the costume but for me there is only the original. I was once asked if I knew who the cat was, it took all my efforts not to burst out laughing as some one walked past us with a pair of cat feet in a bin liner
