Foul Throw-in

Until Shrimps went 3-0 down we were still in the game.
By that time Daggers throw-in specialist had hurled countless exocets into our goal area, creating all sorts of mayhem. The first goal came as a result of a foul throw.
Each and every missile that bloke launched (those down the line excepted) was a blatant foul throw, at least 3/4 of his leading boot had encroached.
I accept that the distance involved is only a few inches, but those few inches were part of his required run-up needed to gain maximum power and distance.
At that ground there is very limited space for a throw-in specialist to be effective, but that should not be an excuse to allow a concession.

The rules state that for a throw-in to be legal no part of the leading foot should encroach onto the pitch.
However, in practice, a lot of officials ignore the rule as they see it a petty infringement.
I put it, that the advantage gained by the Dagenham 'missile-launcher' yesterday was far from petty!

Take it on the chin!
Bad day at the office, or not, Shrimps were walloped by a better team.
I'm just thankful I didn't have to suffer Doris all the way back to Pompey :)

However, those foul throws, taken by a specialist, did a lot to soften a dodgy defence up.
