great news and the high court challenge to the M6 link by the greens failed last week as well. A new stadium with a direct route off the M6 for away supporters and bags of facilities. Let's hope we're playing league football in it when it's finished, that's all that matters now.

To whom do we sell the naming rights though? Any ideas?

Oh please do not sell the name of the ground to someone who flashes a cheque at the club. I really hate that. Called one thing for a couple of seasons and then something else for another two etc. I guess it should be called Westgate? Does anyone ever use the sponsors name anyway? I certainly don't.

Never a truer word said in jest. You never know, it would make sense.

what about the McGuigan Megabowl in partnership with PUMA.

I do like your answer though

Well the Reebok Stadium is the Reebok Stadium. The Ricoh Arena is similar. Usually, it depends on how the sponsor's name is used. I don't like it per se, but stadium sponsorship is increasingly becoming a very lucritive way for a club to get some much needed capital. We need to make money out of this new stadium, don't forget. That's what it's al about (that and Christie Park fast becoming unfit for purpose).

Seemingly pretty badly in Coventry's case because their sponsors Ricoh won't be expecting a photocopier order from you anytime soon.

Can't stand these sponsored ground names either ..........

The McAlpine Stadium, Interlink Express, etc etc.

Sure our friends at Bradford even re-christened Valley Parade to something ludicrous.

Not good

Christie Park? Isn't that the original 'sponsorship' deal?

I don't like sponsored names per-se but I am more than happy to take the money. I trust the business acumen of the current board and if they can secure a substantial deal, they can call it what they want! I would like a permanent reminder of J.B. Christie though, such as the road leading to the ground being named "JB's Way" or something similar.

If it was to be a long term deal I wouldn't have a problem but I wouldn't want it changing every year.

Ideally neither would I but I would like to see any of us fans sit across from a potential sponsor and turn down £100k or whatever they offer.

Of course, a win win solution would be to sort out some sort of sponsorship deal with a certain auction house...

Christies Park

Don't call it by whatever company sponsors it then. You'll be happier and we'll be richer 8-)

Keith, I seem to remember that the access road from Westgate was Christie Way, in the plans.

Could be wrong though I haven't checked!!

If the club can take some money out of naming the new ground, it would be criminal of them to choose not to. I for one, would be furious if it was turned down "on principle" :!:

How about if we get sponsored by Hollands and call it the Hollands Crusty Pie.

How about "The J.B.Christie Main Stand"? Sounds good to me!

I was under the impression that the league rules were that a ground had to have a minimum of 2,000 seats.
The plans suggest 1,898.

Anyone offer an answer to this ?

I thought it was a percentage of overall capacity?
