the difference between the two

Daggers weren't any better than us today and barring two soft goals we should have come away with all thre points. The way i see it is when the ball goes forward to Rene or Blinks its usually to their heads, shoulders or chests and by the time theyve brought the ball under control they are surrounded by opposition shirts and little options because the midfielders don't get forward quick enough. Today Daggers got the ball to feet and drove forward in numbers.
Because we are struggling to score and continue to concede soft goals i'd like to see the following team against Shrewsbury.
Roche
McStay Jimbo Artell Festa
Drummy Stanners Wainwright
Wayun Dermuid Rene

At least if we concede two there's a chance we might have scored three. Heres hoping

The difference when Hunter and Drummond came on and stuff actually went through the midfield was amazing

I think we'd all like to see 12 on the pitch, but it ain't gonna happen! ;)

Not usually one for these predict-a-team threads, but seeing as how I'm contributing anyway....

Roche,
Parrish-Bentley-McStay-Howard,
Wainwright-Drummond-Hunter-Curtis,
Howe-Blinkhorn.
Subs: Davies, Artell, McCann, Carr, O'Carroll.

....or something like that!

Nothing between the two sides in the 1st half, but after Roche gifted them the first goal our midfield went AWOL, meaning the team lost all shape. There was a big improvement after the subs came on, just a shame we could not nick a second goal.

I think the reason why Blinkhorn is in the team is because we are always looking at the long high ball from defence, also when we get in a good position on the wing we lack so much pace that the other teams fill the area. I would like to see up experiment and play the ball to feet and give O’Carroll a start with Howe, also I would like to see Drummond and Stanners/Hunter as our regular midfield, lets face it the two who started today should be squad players- they are not good enough. I thought Curtis would be more of a squad player this year as the squad was supposed to be strengthened but he is looking one of the better players. I have to say other than a couple of players we look like at best like an average conference team. When you think about the team who got us promoted we are significantly weaker.

I know it's probably not going to happen, but let's get Twiss back into the side. We need some of his magic

absolutely, Drummond, Hunter/Stanley, O'Carrol, must be given a start next week.

sadly. Carr looks completely out of his depth.

It's just a thought, but given Adams looks like a player that will never be dropped, couldn't Howard play on the left-wing in the interim? He's got a left foot, for a start...

Good point Marky , but would you leave Adams at left back on present form or try someone else there. Another point to perhaps consider with our defensive problems , have they got the confidence in Roches ability or would they have more confidence in Davies

I wouldn't have Adams anywhere near the team, but Sammy obviously is of a differing opinion. Therefore, to make the best of it, I would suggest having Howard on the left-wing (though I would prefer him a left-back with a true left-winger brought into the side).

In pre-season games you could hear Roach giving orders to Jimbo and Co.

As a centre stander where you can't here much above the noise inferno from the North Stand (sometimes  ), has he lost his voice recently because communication seems to have become a problem?
