Listened to the commentary too. Quite glad that York did it a/As a northern team and b/ Because they only narrowly lost to us in the playoff when we got promoted.

Sounds like it got quite violent at the end with a couple of hundred Luton pitch invaders trying to get at the York fans and players who then had to escape into the York crowd for safety because they couldn't get to the tunnel.

Also trouble at Bradford and Sheffield Wednesday with pitch invaders goading and attacking away fans.

Pitch invasions may be OK when all parties are happy but can be nasty when they aren't.

just watched it all
they cant safeguard players' and fans security can they??
what happens if york dont qualify and they have to go back there???
absolutely disgraceful behaviour i suppose cctv will get each and every one of them and massively fine them all and ban them from grounds
i wouldnt want to be in the away end there and try to get home today
id throw the book at them hope The FA do and dock them another 30 points and a massive fine
they shouldnt have been able to get on the pitch

hope York win the final

Just seen highlights, disgrace. In excess of 1,000 Luton fans on the pitch. Obviously they are frustrated that they lost and have to spend at least another season in the conference, but there is no excuse for that kind of behaviour.

See, this is exactly what can happen when masses of people invade a pitch at the end of a match. Large crowds tend to have enough prats in them for trouble to occur. Those Luton 'fans' (and those at Hillsborough yesterday) are an absolute disgrace.

Just seen a snapshot of the violence on Sky TV. To see the York City players cowering in the back of the away stand apparently being bombarded with missiles was beyond belief! It was pure mob rule and it's to be hoped that all the York fans got out and away safely too because it appeared anything connected with York was fair game to these pond life.

I'ts to be hoped that the FA take Luton to the cleaners for failing to control those responsible and a full Police enquiry identifies as many involved as possible and then the courts don't pussyfoot about with them!

Haven't seen the violence so wont comment.

what I will say is that when we beat York in the 2007 semi-final a few of their fans came back to the york hotel and although they were gutted they handled themselves with a lot of dignity and our fans were consoling them as "we'd been there" ourselves.

I hope they manage it just on that basis.
