Postby Arnside Red » Sat May 01, 2010 11:22 pm

dont think the celebration was ott and there were more players involved than just him, no shirt off etc, seems a bit unfair :o

I can only imagine the ref wrote in his book: Yellow - For joining in a beach party when there was a game of football to finish!!!

Seriously, does the booking mean that he could be banned and are the club going to appeal?

I can't for the life of me understand the logic of the booking.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a process to appeal yellow cards

No appeals allowed against yellows and according to the main site that was his fifth booking so probably won't be available for the next game. :x Should never have been a yellow.

As far as I'm aware, the 5 caution rule doesn't apply this late in the season...

PUNISHMENTS – Relating to First Team Competitive Matches
(a) CAUTIONS ADMINISTERED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY
(i) If a Player accumulates fi ve cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the
Playing Season and 31 December (including any FTCM played on that day) in the
same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: -
One First Team Match
(ii) If a Player accumulates fi ve cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the
Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: -
“Warned as to his Future Conduct”
Some are dead and some are living. In my life, I've loved them all.

These days if a central defender can go through the season picking up only 5 yellow cards I would say he should be "commended for his gentlemanly behaviour" rather than "warned as to his future conduct"
