IS WRONG WITH OUR AWAY PERFOMANCES

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

beggars belief...

Jekyll and Mr Hyde :x :x :x

sm needs to let his personal views on his sqaud not get in the way of sellecting the right team at the right time..

the players and the manager have to play as a team as sm keeps pointing out.

so sammy put your team first..........................

PLEASE

Mark Duffy is the answer he is just not an away player.

Sounds like he had a shocker lost the ball everytime and then their 2nd sounded like a repeat of the goal against Crewe where he lost the ball in our area and they ran up the pitch and scored.

Fair enough Curtis was injured tonight who might have started instead but then why not play Hunter and as the 2nd half went on Hunter should have come on.

We just seem to be really scrappy away and look a shadow of the team that plays at home no confidence, lack of ideas etc

With the position we were in and the performance on Saturday i would have thought they would have been full of confidence , wrong . :(

Duffy had a mare, but why oh why can Sammy not see it and make the change. Gary Hunter must be sat wondering why he has signed a new contract when he can't even get on for the last 15 minutes when we a playing absolute shite.

Reminds me of all those year ago under Harvey when we were unbeatable at home but couldn't put a pass together away.

Sounds like Duffy is the problem and Hunter is the answer but SM doesn't want to play 1 of our most consistant players for some reason. :o

Absolutely shocking. Duffy cost us the second goal and was garbage all night with his piss poor decision making and general faffing around with the ball before consistently losing it. The whole midfield were poor tonight imo and changes have to be made.

20 quid to watch that is infuriating - thank god we have a decent group of people creating a good atmosphere because thats the only thing i enjoyed tonight.

One point off the play-offs. 4 games to go. It is still in our hands as teams still need to play eachother.

We don't need this negative crap, bring on Saturday!

The negative crap was on the pitch, the people on here were being realistic.

Duffy had a shocking game, but not many can say they put in a shift tonight. For one reason or another too many players were having an off day. The ball just wasn't falling for us. The final ball was terrible, can't remember jevons having a kick.

I suppose the most frustrating aspect of the match was the lack of movement on the bench. We've got the players in the squad to bring on and change things around. The tempo of the game was slow throughout, Bradford enjoyed far too much time on the ball. I thought we'd have seen Wayne at some point during the match.

There is no disgrace in losing away at Bradford, but not getting anything out of the game adds the pressure to our remaing games.

To be fair to Duffy he at least got in the right position, took on players and posed a threat. Final ball was poor and the poor pitch didn't help. He tried hard. Compare this to Hackney who was far far worse but seemingly gets less stick because he didn't try and thus couldn't fail but when he did He posed far less of a threat than Duffs.

Agreed. At least Duffy had a go tonight, it didn't come off but he did try to create - thought he was superb on Saturday though. Hackney on the other hand was woeful! I'm far from impressed so far, I thought we were getting a pacey winger? Is he carrying an injury, because he seems to be lacking in both pace and skill?

Totally agree with sammy h .... we are one point off the play offs and people are still having a go .... so what we lost at bradford and did not play that well but everyone as bad days nights etc .... reality check needed we have won 5 games from 7 and still chance of play offs for me that shows we have had decent season i worked out earlier we can't finish worse than 14th but i for one am hoping for higher

BBC predictor says first leg playoffs will be
Rotherham v Morecambe
Dagenham and Redbridge v Bury

Morecambe and Daggers squeezed in with 70 points each

so thats Morecambe v Dagenham at Wembley anyone????

just finished work, am not shocked at all getting beat by Bradford away thought it would be a hard game

am still optimistic because the way L2 is at the moment, i think we might only need 6/7 points to secure a play off place! so all to play for still :P

and tacticaly away from home SM may be better suited in playing a 4 5 1 with a big target man to play off(Mullin) and dropping the other forward(Jevons) for a midfielder(Hunter) :|

We lost, end of!!! Remain positive - Notts County on Saturday, as I say - whatever will be will be!!!

Get behind the team rather than criticising them!!!

Not really a shocking result to be fair, we never do well there no matter what kind of form we or they are in. Just another tough game in a tough run of fixtures, we get anything on saturday and it's fair game for the play-offs. Hopefully Notts Co pretty much promoted will be either over confident or just relaxed that they are pretty much over the line.

With a bit of luck there will be one good thing to come out of last night.

We were again over run in midfield and the game was crying out for HUNTER.

Please sammy and Garry sort it out for the sake of our season.

What worries me going forward is that Sammy has signed or is in the process of signing all our current midfield players and it appears that midfield is a problem area in a lot of games.

Assuming that Stanners and Panther sign then along with Duffy we are retaining the entire midfield that at times is overrun. Surley this leaves little room for new signings in this area ie Craney?

At the risk of being shot down in flames there are still question marks about Mark Duffy and I'm not convined that Panther is the solution to the defensive midfield problem.

I disagree with the statement that no players played well, I thought Mullin worked his socks off as much as he got the ball and I don't think Jevons played that badly- he just didn't get much of the ball to do anything with it.

Will people stop this "stop being negative and criticising" rubbish - of course we are all fully behind the team and its not the end of the world that we lost last night but we can still discuss our performance and if it wasnt good enough, it has to be said!

No one was at fault for the second goal last night, it was the last minute and we pushed all but one upfield to try and get an equaliser. I'd rather we lost 2-0 trying to get 1-1 than 1-0 and defending a narrow loss.

Paul Mullin put in one of his best shifts for us last night but unfortunately because of the reception from the gargantuan Bradford defenders, Jevons didn't get a sniff (which begs the question why have 4 midfielders on the bench and no Wayne Curtis) and Duffy was taken care of by the left-back. Hackney showed a bit more promise but the only place he could have crossed to was Mullin, as Stew Drummond didn't support as much as he could have done, we could have used his height last night.

In the last 5 or so minutes when we went 3-5-2 I think we were the most threatening we'd been all night and that may be a good option for playing away from home, with the same personnel who ended the game last night. Stanley and Drummond sat well without going forward too much and with Duffy in front of them (maybe replaced by Hunter after 70 mins) could provide decent service to a player who can do something in that position.

we lost a game of football, were in 8th 1 point off the playoffs, in our 3rd season in the fl, i think thats a magnificant achievement for a small town like ours, every1has bad games, it was one game last night. theres still 4 more to go, so now lets put last night behind us and think about notts on sat, one final push please lads, whatever happens i think its been a very good season

Ha! Great minds think alike (or fools never differ) see my post on the 'left hand side' thread.

I could also make a case for a 4-4-2 with Hunter, Stanners, Drummy and either Hackney or Wainwright in midfield and with Duffy replacing Jevons up front, playing just behind Mullin.

Mullin has been immense in the last three or four games, putting in a real shift for the entire game but I think Jevo has been a yard off the pace. Big decision to drop your top scorer, though and he is always likely to pop up in the right place at the right time, as he was on Saturday.
