Farewell Charlie Gillett

Alongside John Peel, Charlie was one of the world's great DJs. Not only did he discover great musicians and bands, e.g. Dire Straits, he also enabled millions around the world to discover music from other nations. His show on the World Service was listened to by millions and discovered Yousou N'Door and Salif Keita amongst many.

And he was born in Morecambe.
